The one we already have has been made in China. It is completely different than what we have now. The state of Tennessee is not in the United States. I purchased this fan 37 days after it arrived (7 days after the return period ended) and it has ceased to oscillate on middle speed (the blades do not turn, the fan does not What will it oscillate between low and high speeds for how long is unknown? Sadly, we can't even make or sell a decent fan anymore, even if it costs less than $55 Normally $60. 00, now discounted to $60. I took my chances because I wanted them to be good, especially considering I bought two more and others as well. Other customers also complained about these fans breaking after a short time, but I wanted to make sure they would be good. I haven't had a problem with the other two, but I am less convinced that they will last that long.

Hunter no longer offers a warranty for these models, my customer service representative explained to me. As I read reviews regarding this product and being very happy with the older Century model from Hunter that looks very much like this product, I decided to order it despite my hesitancy. Wow! Even though Hunter has severely reduced the price of this unit - it remains above a fair market value. This guarantees the defective products (which cannot be refunded. FYI) has been truncated It is of lower quality too, and now it goes from high to low instead of the traditional other direction, although starting on high may mitigate complaints about the fan not starting at all as the cheapo bronze "bearings" begin to fail just like every other component of the fan. The worse part is that the blade is a cheap solution, which creates the wrong kind of turbulence. As a result, it is noisier and emits both a high pitch whistle and a low harmonic grumble, even at low speeds. It may be worthwhile for me to remove the blade from my old Century model and place it on this model. Almost fifteen years ago, Hunter was still a trusted name and the company offered good parts availability and service even if the prices were very inflated. You're pretty much on your own these days and may as well just buy a new one However, you may as well save a little money by purchasing a more affordable replacement, since Hunter has dumbed itself down to this level of quality. In that regard, I'm actually considering returning this one to give it a try on something different. Lastly, it should be noted that the screws in the base are indeed sharp and stick out excessively from the bottom as well.
