Questions & Answers

In what respect is this model different from the Vornado 783 full-size No. 0076 ?

Vornado's 783DC variable speed circulator turns 120 volts into 24 volts and consumes less power than a conventional circulator. This unit uses a maximum of 2 watts of power to move 93 cfm of air at its lowest setting. This machine moves 655 cubic feet of air per minute and uses 60 watts of electricity on the highest setting. Using the 783 Circulator, you have a choice of three speeds A low-quality product The unit is rated for 250 cfm at 45 watts, medium The unit is 467 cubic feet per minute at 50 watts, High-efficiency With a power rating of 70 watts, the fan delivers 583 cfm.

What would it feel like if I'm suddenly hit by a tower fan? Would it feel like that? Why does the CFM only seem to be about 500? When it blows on you, is it powerful?

It blows on you with an insane amount of power. When the effect is at full power, it would be described as a "blast" of air, way too strong even at a distance of It is only when I want to bounce around the room that I turn a Vornado to full. If it is pointed directly at me, I don't even bother switching it to 1/2.

In order to point a quiet fan directly at myself, I need it to be very quiet. Both this fan (723dc) and the 783dc meet the requirements. Could you please tell me which is better for this use?

I'm Phil, and welcome to the blog. Having replaced another Vornado that is no longer in production, I bought this 723dc to replace the older model. According to my estimation, the older model was about as quiet as you can get. Even at the absolute lowest setting, there is a noticeable (albeit slight) change in noise. I had hoped the 723dc would compare well. Rather than the high pitch tone of the older unit, it is more like a "white noise" hum. The noise level is still much lower than any other fan on the market to my knowledge - I can't say that about any other fan. It also includes designs that are "blade less.". If you are asked what is more important, the stand or the floor model? Well, I guess that is more personal preference. When I bought it, the stand model was not available, but since I was in desperate need of airflow during the time (summer months), I chose the floor model because the NOISE was my main With hindsight, I was better off waiting for the stand version to be restocked since positioning the floor unit higher now to reach over the bed is always a factor and takes up valuable top drawer This floor would be perfect if you wanted more floor space Any model that has slightly level airflow (for example, chair height) will work just

Are there down and up tilting options available with this fan? When it tilts, how many different angles does it support?

The 45 degree angle embraces the bottom of the slope (the slope on the bottom and the slope on the top)*br>which forms various angles on the slope. A user can easily use it. There is nothing to complain about.

I'm sorry, but I am
3/5

I'm so close to telling you how awesome this is. The air is just as good as the air that I won previously Fans that are more effective than squirrel cage fans, and with a better cone of effect. What a combination! Yes, it's a bit noisy at top speed, but that's to be expected when you have a motor that generates so much air. I don't know. However, the part that absolutely cuts me off is that I spent a lot of money here in order to invest in high-energy That seems to be the case at low speeds A max speed of 50W is required. There's just one problem it's a fake number. It is bad when it comes to power factor. A really bad idea. When the speed is low, 3 out of 10 are zero. High speed 5 at a distance of 5 miles. So when we look at the actual draw, it's 50. An increase of 70%. As a result, a 3W reading is closer to 10W of "real" power output, and more importantly, a 50W maximum power reading is more like a 100W current reading. The fan on that looks almost identical to one on an AC. Would you mind telling me why I bought that? I agree that it is a bummer, as it has nothing to do with the fan itself. You did a great job with the engineering! Strong as a rock. Generally speaking, it's a cheap AC adapter This is a really good deal. They either got ripped off by the OEM supplying them or didn't pay enough to see them through to the end. It's a shame someone did that! This is *br*br*br. It is further evidence that whoever specifies this charger did it wrong). It wouldn't be ideal when you want to set the fan up on a table with 3ft on the other side. Disclaimer I have the following financial interest As I don't know the power draw, I bought three of these before I checked, and I will keep them in the hopes that I can find a better oem power adapter. It's a shame that a perfectly engineered fan is ruined by a bad choice of accessorizing.

A major problem is the amount of noise, excessive electricity use, and low air flow
3/5

Aside from the 10 year warranty and the 2-watt on low power consumption, I also liked the build quality of this monitor. The fan was making a lot of noise which was bothersome, and I absolutely hated how much power was being used. Using a large fan will provide you with the most CFM for the amount of electricity you use. Vornados would never be used as an example in a gym. With the Air King 99538 you'll get 3450 cubic feet of air per minute at 70 watts instead of 650 cubic feet at 60 watts with It is a 30 inch beast that runs on low and pushes about five times as much air for the same amount of power. Putting the Vornado 783DC about 6 feet away from me on low allowed me to see how it would fit. It bothered me even though I had headphones on because I heard an annoying hum. As soon as I turned off the fan, the noise disappeared. You may want to purchase a ceiling fan if you need moving air in your room. In order to get directed air from a small fan, it is best to buy the normal vornado fans rather than the DC fans, as they are quieter. Rather than spending a lot of money on a box fan, you could just buy a decent fan like the Wind Machine from Lasko. You need to use this fan only if you really like the Vornado fan and don't mind the noise it makes. You can also run it on low all summer long if you don't mind the noise. In all honesty, I would hope for perfection in this fan for its price tag. The one I bought will be returned.

The customer service is even worse than the noise, as two out of three units are very noisy
3/5

Get your goods elsewhere and save money! Despite having three of these fans, two of them were extremely noisy, and Vornado is no longer on my approved supplier list due to severe and consistent quality problems. I have had three of these fans, and two of them It was over the summer that I purchased the 783DC to channel AC into a poorly ventilated area of work. The quite loud AC unit is out now, so the fan is no longer functional because it makes a howling, whining noise. In addition, I also have the smaller, very quiet model 633DC, which I also obtained through a RMA for one about as loud It is unclear what the noise level is at any speed for the fan 783DC. In some cases, however, the noise hits a more noticeable resonance at certain speeds. It's important to make sure the speed is just right so the loudness doesn't peak. In a phone call to the company, I asked that I be paid for a "hot replacement" and that the old unit be returned When it was 100 degrees outside, I didn't want to be without a fan for a week. As for the replacement, I would not want to be without a quiet fan for 2 or more weeks if it was as bad as the current unit. Since 2 of the 3 units I have had were defective, my chances of getting a bad replacement are very As far as I know, they said it would be impossible for me to ship a replacement without them having the defective unit on hand or at least pictures of the destroyed unit. A manager was not available when I asked to speak to him, but I appreciated the opportunity to speak with him. I asked for a manager to message me "VORNADO" so I could add it to my whitelist so I could be contacted. I was condescendingly told, "They will call you," by the unhelpful customer opponent. My manager texted me three times on purpose to let me know that they are calling me first and I asked nicely for the manager to text me. There was never any call from a manager. A message was sent to me saying that I should wait until the temperature is suitable for being without the unit for a few days. If the replacement is not as described, I am going to open an "ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED" claim against Vornado, get my money back, and go purchase my replacement As I mentioned before, 180 dollars for a noisy fan is not what I expected. Below are images from my Android app Audio Tool that illustrates noise spikes and levels. *****Both fans are rated at 30 dB when running at low speed by Vornado. As you can see from the above picture, 633DC at lowest speed shows 69dB 1 inch from the fan's back for motor noise and wind noise.
The 633DC shows a fairly smooth noise profile with most white noise being generated by airflow. This fan is 2 feet away from my feet and I can comfortably sleep with it set to 20%. There is a soothing and calming effect when there is a white wind. It may not seem that much louder than the 633DC, but large spikes in the spectrum graph indicate bearing noise.
The raspy, rough appearance of the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) shows grinding noise, not wind noise. Being within 10 feet on low is very annoying and becomes increasingly irritating as time goes on. A very disappointing experience.
