Quiet, dependable, and well-designed The base is surprisingly heavy, which is a nice touch (there's no risk of it tipping over). I bought it to replace an older Honeywell with a similar make and feature set that I'd been using almost every night since 2006. That motor eventually gave up, so it wasn't a bad run all in all. If you care about noise, this model is noticeably quieter on the lowest setting. It also has two blue led lights on the front display, though I haven't noticed them illuminating the room much (roughly equivalent to a small clock radio). br>br>It stands 47 inches tall when fully extended. It comes with a remote control, but it can also be used from the base. Tilt and oscillate are included, but I don't use either. It has one, two, four, and eight-hour sleep timers, as well as three speed settings and three flow modes (variable, breeze, and constant). On low, which is what I usually use, it moves a lot of air for its size; the grill, pole (polished aluminum), fan shaft, and motor are all made of lightweight, coated (painted) metal. Plastic is used for everything else. A built-in safety fuse is included with the plug. br>br>I'd be surprised if this one didn't outlast my previous Honeywell fan. I hope you found this review to be helpful.
When oscillating, there is no noise! The following are some of the fan's most interesting characteristics: (1) In the center, there is a second fan blade that increases the total volume of air flow. (2) You won't be able to push down the oscillating screw as you are accustomed to; It is turned on and off by an electronic switch. The airflow is impressive, as is the fan's quietness on its highest setting. I also like how there's no rubbing noise or random clinks or clanks when the fan is oscillating (which is the most common complaint with oscillating fans). The drawbacks: (1) The fan's tilt is based on its weight. balance - You can't tighten the screw because there isn't one. That bothers me because I pick up and move the fan on a daily basis. (2) The blue LED lights, like any other device these days, are far too bright. To keep them to a minimum, use tape or something similar. I was on the verge of giving it five stars, but I'm going to have to settle for four. With five stars, you'd think this is the best, and you'd be right.
This was purchased to replace my old pedestal fan, which had finally given up the ghost and passed away. As a result, I'm comparing this to what was once a fantastically functional fan. This new one appealed to me because it was a well-known brand, so I purchased it. The previous one was a knockoff, but it had far superior features. First and foremost, this new one has a much more sturdy stand than the old one, but it came with a chip in the base (which is not a problem to use). This new base had a narrower height range, and I needed more. Fortunately, it fit perfectly on my old base, giving me an extra 8 inches to perfectly adjust the height. br>br>This one has all of the same features as my previous one- There are three speeds, but they are all nearly the same on this new one! It has a sleep mode, but unlike the old one, which nearly stopped cycling, it does not slow down much in this mode. I used to love my old one on low and sleep because the gentle breeze was so relaxing to fall asleep to. I have to make sure this new one isn't directed at me, because there's not much of a difference between sleeping and constantly blowing on you. Yes, the constant on is nice when it's really hot, but it's too much for just having air circulation on cool nights. br>br>I really wanted to like this new fan and will use it, but I really wish it had the same great features as the old one. I had to give it five stars because of the sturdy stand, which is ideal for large dogs. I have large dogs, but I keep my fan on an older, less sturdy stand so they can't tip it over.
that I adored until the remote stopped working. I missed the remote, despite the fact that the fan still worked. So, while shopping on Amazon, I noticed the Honeywell fans. Without using the oscillating setting, the dual layer blades disperse the air over a larger area. It produces a lot of air even on the lowest setting. Quiet? YES! There's a lot of silence here. I have it near my TV in my living room, and I never have to turn up the volume. Two front indicator lights glow blue when turned on, providing a nice little night light. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has an oscillating button on the remote. Because my fan is so close to my television, I didn't want it to have that feature. So I glued around the button to prevent myself from accidentally pushing it or my cat from stepping on it. All of the remote's features are available on the base. The assembly was simple and did not necessitate the use of any tools. br>Honeywell's engineers have created a well-designed and reliable fan. This is a fan that I strongly suggest!.
builtbr>• Double bladed fan with larger inner blades and smaller center blades to increase maximum airflow and coolingbr>• Remote control to access settings, a great addition especially while in bed without having to get out of bed to turn the fan on/off or adjust its settingsbr>• Automatic timer turns the fan off at a specified interval (1, 2, 4, or 8 hours) to save energybr>• Solid base foundation, keeping the fan secured to groundbr>• Oscillation is • No dedicated on/off button at the base controls; must cycle through the three speed settings to turn off or use remote controlbr>• LED light at the base can be intrusive at night for those who prefer to sleep in complete darknessbr>br>USEFUL INFO: • To secure the larger and smaller blades, a plastic lock nut is tightened via counter-clockwise rotation. To avoid loosening over time when the blades are spinning counter-clockwise, turn it clockwise instead of the standard clockwise. • When installing the two blades, make sure the slot on the inside center of the blades lines up with the notch on the axle of the base. br>.
