On the other hand, 3 feet isn't ideal, especially if the fan is going to be placed on a table. br>br>Full disclosure: br>br> I bought three of these before checking the power draw, and I'll keep them in the hopes of finding a better oem power adapter. I forgot to look at physical size and instead focused on CFM during my research, and as a result, I came across this fan, which I thought was the best bang for the buck on the list. Well, I should have paid more attention because the fan shroud is over 15" across, and the base alone requires 15"x16" to fit on my large nightstand (which is really a small rectangular table). As a result, it now resides in my office, where it serves two purposes: the process of cooling On the lowest setting, the white noise is very quiet while still moving 351 cfm (per vortex). Several hand-held, entry-level leaf blowers operate at 350cfm for comparison. br>Medium changes the game dramatically - I couldn't find a published cfm for this setting, but I'm guessing it's in the middle of the low (351) and high (583) settings (467 cfm?). ) I usually use this setting because it produces a good amount of white noise on medium without turning my office into a tornado. It generates enough white noise to drown out my family on the other side of my office's french doors while also moving a significant amount of air, which helps to keep my office cool (multiple computers/monitors and other electric devices running in a closed space). It can reach temperatures of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in there without a fan. When I'm around a fan, I'm usually in a good mood. I aim the fan at the underside of one of the two french doors to help exchange air because I have an exit vent from the HVAC system but no dedicated return vent in my office to help circulate the air. br>High moves 583 cfm, which is excessively high for that area. However, I could see myself using that setting if my air conditioner broke down or if I needed to work in the attic and needed to force house interior air up into the space. The fan head can pivot 45 degrees downward to 90 degrees straight up, and at 583cfm on High, it would certainly blow enough air up from the floor through the attic ladder access opening to make working up there bearable. br>I adore Vornado fans and have bought at least ten in the last ten years. Among them are: Two tower fans were broken out of the box (one of the fans became loose inside the tower due to rough handling - I believe three other smaller units failed before the warranty expired (wouldn't spin on low setting) due to a shipping issue. Vornado customer service is fantastic; a quick phone call, a request for proof, and my replacement fan was shipped the next day. This is why I keep buying their merchandise. When you receive your fan, make sure to register it so that you can take advantage of the entire warranty period - Otherwise, they may have to rely on the fan's sticker for the date of manufacture vs. the date of purchase. I suppose the days of having a fan for the past ten years are over, but I'm hoping this one is an outlier.

Vornado fans have always piqued my interest (pun intended). I used to have a large stand fan in my room that only worked if you stood directly in front of it and was extremely loud. This model provides excellent airflow in my large bedroom and aids in keeping me cool at night by creating a natural breeze. I like that I don't have to point it at myself and that it circulates the air in the room. It isn't completely silent, but it is quieter than my previous stand fan on low. br>br>The size and mechanical power switch are the reasons I chose this particular model. I've got it connected to a wireless network. I'm using a wi-fi wall plug so that I can use Alexa to control it: "Alexa, turn on Vornado. " Some of the newer models have momentary switches that do not remember their previous state when unplugged and replugged. In other words, you can't use a smart plug to control them because when you plug them back in, they turn off. When you re-plug a good mechanical switch like this one, it will remain in the previous state.
