You can assemble it yourself if you like. Within the drawers are magnetic label holders with paper inserts. They were on a pallet and we got two of them. Having a place to deliver it is a must. It may be necessary to use a forklift.
This seems to be the case. In any case, my product arrived damaged, and I have yet to open it to use it.
Greetings Janet,*br>I have a short answer for you. *br>The short answer is that the top shelf of the 5 drawer file cabinet serves as a safety feature to help ensure the unit doesn't topple over if it's too top-heavy A heavy load. The four drawer unit is tough to tear apart (and ruin) if you got it thinking you would be able to remove one drawer and make a shelf out of it. If a piece of plywood is needed to make a shelf inside the cabinet, because there are no dividers between the drawers, you would need to add one. It's very likely you would be unhappy with how it looks. To help you out, if you really want/need a storage/binder shelf, get the 5 drawer cabinet and finish the job. An effort as well as money would be wasted if you tried to reassemble a cabinet that is specifically designed as a set of drawers. Thank you for your help. I am Mary

It was my intention to buy this cabinet so that I would be able to satisfy all of my residential filing needs Given the price tag, I definitely felt I was going to get a good product, didn't I? This was a very bad mistake on my part. It was the delivery that gave me my first indication. Despite my (somewhat narrow) street, the shipping company sent a full blown semi trailer down there. As the driver and I grappled with this monster off the edge of the truck, it felt like one of us could be crushed in the process. But we didn't flinch. I was also dissatisfied with the process of getting the event inside and set up. While it is a hefty device, it is relatively light and thin. There are two black filing cabinets I have that cost 40 dollars each from Target and they're much, much heavier. The sound of the metal fits flappy in my ears every time I open a drawer, and it never fits all the way back into place when I close it. In the end, however, it's the rails that will prove to be the last nail. Rails are provided on both sides of every drawer. On the sheet metal sides of the drawers, the cutout holes are mirrored images of each other, which wouldn't have been an issue if the rails had been "keyed" (little notches cut to match the holes to seal them All the rails, however, travel on the same key, so a "thinner" rail (the one closer to the front face of the drawer) is not protected from slipping out of its location as it passes by the front face of If you opened your filing cabinet, all the carefully organized documents would just be scattered all over the place because one of the rails had lost its grip. There are drawers like that in every room. There is nothing I could have done to improve this unit and I wish I would have spent more on a higher quality product. If there hadn't been a significant problem, I would have given it a 5. In the back of the cabinet, you will find three counterweight blocks. On the bottom of the cabinet, they are glued in place. During installation, someone spilled glue on top of the center counter weight, which caused the bottom drawer to fall out. There was glue on the bottom of the drawer. The time it took me was one minute and forty-five seconds The bottom drawer was the only one that refused to open, so we spent an hour and a half trying to analyze why. Keeping the bottom drawer upright required that I work through a small opening about 1/8" wide beneath the bottom drawer to break the glued connection. The left wall of the room was inscribed with the number 14. The QC person failed miserably if that was their ID. They neither had this problem on their website nor could I get someone on the phone at 4PM on a Friday to assist me. I doubt they could have diagnosed this problem over the phone, so I won't worry about it. With that initial complaint aside, the device appears well-made and should perform well in the long run.

Despite the fact that I wanted it cheaply and from North Carolina, the bottom of the package arrived severely cracked. Refunds were issued to me after I rejected the delivery.
My copy came damaged, so I am not sure if it is good or not. I can't imagine trying to send it back and replace it if it had been such a complicated process to get it delivered. So that's how it's gonna be since I have to hold the top shelves with my arm and the bottom shelves with my legs and giggle a bit to get it to close and lock. At this price, we'd recommend heading down to office max and buying on site and shipping ourselves. The company may offer me a discount, which would be helpful.
It was evident that there were dings and dents on the exterior of the cabinets when they arrived, meaning that the bottom drawer actually snagged It took two hours for us to finally get it to work using rubber mallets. It could have either been a mishandled pallet or a seller who didn't secure it properly. Since our workplace deals with truck shipments often, we know this could have been either the shipper or seller's fault. In any case, we decided to not waste any more time with a claim on this item once we made it work. I give the product five stars, but I take two away for the shipping and packaging.
As a reminder, there are bricks at the bottom of the file cabinet to prevent it from tipping, so remove them during the move so that you will be able to move it more easily.
