This small Wine Table has an interesting and unique design and takes up little space, making it ideal for small spaces. It's of good build quality for the price, and using the Allen key that came with it, assembly was simple. There were a couple of minor drawbacks: br>br> 1. br>br> The table parts arrived in a cardboard box lined with Styrofoam sheets, which did a good job of protecting the product but had partially disintegrated during shipping, leaving hundreds of Styrofoam pellets stuck to all of the furniture pieces due to static electricity. Unpacking it in the house would have been a disaster, so I carefully dragged the box outside before unboxing the parts and used my air compressor to blow the foam pellets away. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br Full-extension drawers are a must. Extension drawer guides were used instead of the standard guides that were provided. The drawers only open a few inches (just enough for my hand to fit inside), making them more decorative than functional - Later on, I might install complete extension guides. In addition, two of the four front plastic drawer guides were broken during shipping. Because the manufacturer included two additional guides with the assembly hardware, this appears to be a fairly common problem. You'll need a very stubby Phillips screw driver to install these guides because of their location. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. The table rocked as I sat on the floor after it was assembled. I solved the problem by placing a thick adhesive felt pad under one of the legs. I believe loosening and retightening the fasteners that bolt the leg assemblies to the top would have allowed the legs to adjust to the floor, but the felt pad was easier and worked fine. br>br>All-in-all, I think loosening and retightening the fasteners that bolt the leg assemblies to the top would have allowed the legs to adjust to the floor. br>br>All-in-all, I think loosening and ret All in all, I'm pleased with this small table, which, because of its unique design, I believe will be a good conversation starter. EDIT: br>br> The two drawers now have full extension drawer guides. With the factory bottom guide, the drawer would only open wide enough for my hand to fit inside. The drawers are much more usable now that they open fully. I spent $13 on four full-extension 9-inch rails (2 sets of two each). 99 on Amazon, and in the drawer pockets, I added some 5/8" plywood strips as mounting surfaces for the guides. The new full-extension guides are fantastic. It's worth noting that the guides don't include screws. As a result, you'll require 6 x 1/2" flat head screws. Before and after photos of the drawer guides can be found in my photos.
(The Stickley equivalent of Leick's mission chairside table retails for about $1,600, so the decision to buy Leick was easy, given the intended use. ) This is a sturdy, attractive, and easily assembled piece of furniture that doesn't look out of place in a room where several pieces of actual Stickley also reside. ) Purists and woodworkers should be aware, however, that while the top, legs, corbels, drawer face, and drawer sides are all solid wood, the tabletop sides and bottom shelf appear to be veneered fiberboard (i. e. MDF). That isn't to say that it isn't a good thing. MDF makes an excellent veneer substrate, and veneered MDF can be found everywhere from high-end furniture stores to Wal-Mart. close to the market outs. I can not be 100% certain that MDF is involved without drilling or cutting the components in question, but my reasonably educated guess is. That is, for whatever it is worth to you. I'm pleased with my purchase, and while I had hoped that the veneer mentioned in the description would only be used to conceal end grain, I knew there was a chance - especially at this price (especially since "solid wood" is not mentioned in the description) - that it would be put to better use. So, while I'm slightly disappointed, I'm not surprised in the least.
I had no idea what I was getting myself into when it arrived. It FAR EXCEEDED my expectations in terms of quality and appearance, as well as the ease with which I was able to put it together thanks to clear instructions and the manufacturer's excellent prep work. The table has a lovely color and is made of a sturdy material. Everything was pre-assembled or set up with drill holes and other features to facilitate assembly. As a result, I was able to complete the task relatively quickly. The color and style are fantastic, and my husband and I are thrilled with the end result! Each piece is stained in the same exact color (which is nice because many times pieces are supposed to match color but are slightly off tint)! This set is fantastic, and after seeing the quality of the four tables we purchased, we decided to order the matching media/tv stand. Not only that, but when I'm shopping for other items for my home, I always look for Leick products first because I love their quality and appearance! br>br>If you're looking for reasonably priced furniture that's also high-quality, I highly recommend this brand!.
In early 2016, I purchased two of these for use in my living room. The price, size, and style were all factors in my decision. As far as I recall, they went together fairly quickly, and I have no structural issues. I gave it three stars because the tops are peeling and ugly after two years. We put coasters under our cups and glasses and keep them out of direct sunlight. I'm not sure why they aren't lasting as long as I had hoped. I believe these should have held up better, and if I had to do it all over again, I would apply a quick coat of polyurethane to the tops to help them keep their finish. Unfortunately, because the veneer is so thin and the substrate is similar to MDF, it's difficult to conceal the stain without making it obvious. I've had other RTA furniture before, so I was expecting this to be just as durable.
