Grey Oak and Dark Oak are the same species. Some customers believe our console table is darker than Gray Oak, and that Dark Oak is a better match for our product.
I didn't think the shelves needed to be refinished or repainted. The colors are fairly neutral, and the quality of the finish is satisfactory. In the description, I believe the term "rustic" is a bit misleading.

This table was exactly what I was looking for to fill an empty corner in my living room, and the price was fantastic (I looked at MANY other stores and this seemed like a great deal). It's simple to assemble, and it's nice and sturdy. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. I would strongly suggest it.
This is a sturdy unit that is light enough to be useful, but it can be difficult to put together. Unless you have assistance, you should use a clamp or other support to keep the lower shelves stable while you attach them to the metal components. Keep in mind that as each screw is tightened, it may become difficult to line up subsequent screws, so keep that in mind.
This is fantastic. It has a rustic feel to it, as well as a modern feel to it. It looked great in our small living room. Since we no longer have a TV console, we've been debating how to store our children's DVDs. This was ideal because our children could reach the DVDs at the bottom, while the other two shelves were used for decorations and trinkets.

This table is exactly what I was looking for. I must admit that I was skeptical at first, but once I opened the box and saw the wood, I was pleasantly surprised. The color combination is stunning. This is one of the best Amazon purchases I've ever made. My local furniture stores all had sofa tables for $250 or more, so I was ecstatic to find this one for $159. This table is also very easy to dust because there are no annoying nooks and crannies where your Swiffer can get stuck. The table looks great!.
This is fantastic! It serves as a storage space for all of my bulky legal books and other items. The color difference in my apartment doesn't bother me because my furniture is similar (industrial modern meets cheap). If you're looking for a specific shade, the photos I've included show how it appears in natural light.
