This was purchased to be used as a small game table in my living room. I already had two barstools, so I skipped over the ones that went with this table. The red on the chairs and tables, it turned out, was a good match. Table information:
PROS: It has a much nicer appearance than a typical bistro or bar table. The durable construction appears to be long-lasting; The footrest on the table makes sitting for long periods of time very comfortable; the table top is smooth and stylish, with no visible fingerprints or smudges like regular bar tables.
CONS: It has a height-adjustable top, but anything higher than the lowest setting causes the table to top to become unstable; I had to put a few pennies under one leg to keep it from wobbling because the base was slightly out of level.
It's far from level. The counter top slants, which is noticeable, and the legs are uneven in the opposite direction. I'd be irritated if it weren't so amusing to look at. Now it's up to me to put in the effort and see if I can fix it on my one day off. It was a good time.
br>To keep the table top from moving, the locking mechanism rotates clockwise. Even though it is "locked," the table top rotates in both directions. The table top is loose and will continue to rotate left and right with just a slight movement. Regardless, I kept it because I like the design and materials used. All I have to do now is figure out how to keep the tabletop from moving and at the 35" height I desire. If it weren't for the two flaws, I would have given it five stars. br>br>7/8/21 UPDATE: br>I was going to buy a locking washer to help lock the table in place, so I unscrewed the table top and went to the store to get the locking wheel, but they didn't have the size I needed. Anyway, I replaced the table, and the problem was solved. Although the tabletop can still be turned left and right, it no longer wobbles. I gave it a four-star rating now because half of the table is still slightly lower than the other.
Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever It's a roller coaster even if you only move slightly. Unless you want to put a lock on it, which defeats the purpose. br>Looks nice, but at over $100, it's more of a showpiece than a practical item.
Contacted company 5 minutes after unboxing, only got the base out of the box before seeing things broken, bad thing is, all the broken pieces weren't even in the box, which means it was broken before it crossed the water, and to make matters worse, I can't even weld anything because it's pop metal. br>Update two weeks later, emailed them, they took my name and address to send a new part and it was really quick to come from China, so I'm happy.
It only took ten minutes to put together, and it's of good quality and sturdy construction. I gave it four stars because it's more copper than bronze. It's the color of a penny; I'd prefer it to be bronze.
Better than I had hoped for! Made of real wood, it's simple to put together. Also, it's extremely durable! What a fantastic purchase!.
My question about how to stop it spinning and lock it in place was answered by djw on this site. It should have been simple to figure out, in retrospect - However, what about ME? After you've gotten it to the desired height, turn the "handle" looking thing clockwise. tighten it as much as possible until it reaches the base unit. The table was (mostly) secured in its position. I was seriously considering returning or trashing this - I, on the other hand, found it to be quite enjoyable. I could have saved myself a few weeks of frustration if the manufacturer had provided some instructions for dolts like me. However, for those like me who have limited space and require a complete dining room set, this is a fantastic piece.
