We have both sat on it several times—my husband has sat on it, I have sat on it, and so have my boys. I weigh 220 pounds, and my husband is the same. It is worth noting that my 11 year old put his heels on the bottom rack and then put some pressure on it and the bottom rack bent. It was hard finding what we needed because most, if not all, can store only a couple of pairs of shoes on each shelf and are cheap and of poor quality. The four pairs on each shelf fit very well on this, and it is very well built. I am 230 lbs, 6' tall, and my size works just fine with it. As a bonus, the wife enjoys the mess- You can see now what our front door looks like. 5 corner protectors are included with the package.

It is common for my nieces to kick their shoes off as soon as they get inside. Making sure the wall-facing side of the bench is facing out is all I need to do.
It's made very well and is solid. I thought it would be better than it was. It is really beautiful the way it is made out of wood. You can see a picture of it attached. I recommend this product and think it's a great buy!.
Best thing I have ordered on Amazon in a long time. This is a very, very sturdy piece! That was a lot more than I anticipated. It has a wood top and metal legs, which I love! In addition to serving as a plant shelf, it doubles as an end table. In this case, we ordered the longer version. Two sizes available for the caps (Note the difference between them). It's exactly what I was looking for! Because I sit in this chair during reading, we never built in a middle rack. I now keep my books in the bottom rack, since this is where I keep the books I read from. It is difficult to say enough about this purchase I made on Amazon!.
For the low price, it's exceptionally well made. There is a small amount of glue visible at one edge, but nothing that is overt or obviously evident.
