I needed a size that wasn't available locally, and a custom order was out of my budget, so I ordered this hutch buffet online for the first time. The pros: Overall, it has a great look, and the drawer is well-designed. The advantages: plenty of storage space and a reasonable price. The disadvantages: Color is darker than shown, and there are numerous minor dings. Finish flaws, a few stain issues, a broken cupboard fastener, no hardware to secure the hutch to the buffet, no assembly instructions, and the buffet top is proportionally larger than the photos show. br>br>The shipper was courteous, professional, and on time. She helped us unbox the items so we could inspect them for damage and take pictures of the various dings. scratches, but stated that they were not responsible for any finish issues. Returning the furniture to Amazon is the first step in resolving any issue. I was hesitant to return this hutch because it took a lot of time to unbox, assemble, and clean, so I called ACME and spoke with Michelle, an excellent customer service representative, about getting: touch- stain, hutch-securing hardware, and a replacement cupboard fastener She sent out helpful assembly instructions via email, but she didn't have any touch-up paint. to provide a stain or hardware She confirmed that if I was unhappy with the hutch, I had no choice but to return it. I reached out to Amazon and spoke with Clark, who was yet another excellent customer service representative. I explained why it wasn't worth it logistically to return the hutch due to minor damage or issues, and he agreed to a discount that effectively covered the cost of the items I'd requested. br>br>In the end, if minor flaws are a deal breaker, buying furniture online is probably not the best option. If you must purchase something online for whatever reason, be prepared to accept minor flaws and correct them yourself. To illustrate, I've included photos.
The hutch arrived fully assembled; the bottom was easily movable, and the top was simple to install with the help of a couple of friends. The unit is well-constructed, with no flaws in the workmanship. The drawers do not wobble from side to side but easily slide in and out, and the doors open and close smoothly. It is a lovely piece of furniture.
This is a fantastic piece of furniture for the price, and it arrived on time and in excellent condition. I touched up a scratch on the corner of the buffet, and we discovered a missing knob on a drawer in the packing materials later. It looks great in my dining room and is a nice addition that matches my table and buffet almost perfectly. There's a lot of glass, which looks really nice with the touch lighting system once it's been cleaned and polished.
My two sons were able to put it together on their own. The hinges, felt, and light all contribute to the uniqueness of this piece. Overall, it's quite lovely!.
The hutch is absolutely stunning. It was worth every penny for the price.
