Questions & Answers
This is the exact question I asked Ashley's customer service. Unfortunately, they responded that they do not disclose this information due to liability concerns, but they assured me that they were strong. How can a customer buy a product with confidence if they don't know what the product's maximum weight capacity is? This response aided me in making the decision to shop somewhere else. Sorry, Ashley, but "sturdy" isn't good enough.
They are between 10 and 15 pounds in weight, in my opinion. These chairs are extremely durable and comfortable.

What I like: These chairs are lovely to look at, and I especially like the ladder. The seat fabric is a nice tweed with some gray in it, which I think goes well with the color of my walls. It was a breeze to put them together. That's not a problem! br>br>What I don't like: I have a feeling the seats will wear out quickly due to the lack of support underneath them. Your butt sags down once you're in them. Because the cushions are not attached to anything in the middle, you can feel the boards around the edges. I hope that was clear. The chair swung a little because some of the legs were slightly shorter than the others. My husband had to wheedle them into not rocking. br>Also, I know they're supposed to have a rustic farmhouse look, but when we got them, they were filthy. When we first took it out of the box, it had finger prints on it. One of the photos I uploaded has a fingerprint on it.
So I ordered four of these exact chairs from the Ashley warehouse (online) and had to put them together myself. That was two weeks before I ordered a new set from Amazon. Ashley's sale had ended, and I needed two more for when my guests arrived. As a result, I noticed that the Amazon price was identical to Ashley's sale price. As a result, I went out and bought a whole bunch of them. These look like manufactured rejects to me. They aren't bad, but they are distinct. br>br>From Ashley: br>br> br>* The wood is in excellent conditionbr>* There are no wobbly legsbr>* The paint is evenly appliedbr>br>From Amazon: br>* In areas where there are obvious machine cutting errors, the wood is rough and splintered. br>* Only one wobbly leg in the setbr>* Paint is uneven and very thin to non-existent on the underside. br>br>With the exception of one wobbly one that can be easily fixed, they look great once you flip them over. All of the screw holes were in the same place. The price was ideal for finishing off my set with two extra chairs. These chairs are well-built and have a comfortable cushion.
The chairs showed up on time. The boxes were in excellent condition, with no damage to the furniture inside; however, they did produce some trash, which was to be expected. It took some time to put everything together, but it was relatively simple. The smell was the ONE THING I HAD NOT EXPECTED. I'm not sure if it's because of the finish or because of a chemical added to keep bugs and pests out of the warehouse boxes. The odor is extremely potent and overwhelming. With the house completely shut up, we had the chairs in the dining room. When I got home from work the next day, the house was filled with a chemical odor. I'm not sure how long it will take for this to air out, but even after opening some windows for about 20 minutes to let some fresh air in, the house still stinks. The furniture's overall appearance and assembly are good, but the odor is extremely unpleasant.
They were very simple to put together, but don't completely tighten the screws until the legs are balanced; what I liked best was that the washers and tightening rings were already attached to all of the screws and were ready to use. This saves a significant amount of time during the assembly process.
I gave it four stars because some of the holes were out of alignment and we had to drill holes ourselves to make it work. We added felted pads to the chairs' feet to make them glide more easily on the tile, and these chairs are stunning. Just be patient (even if you have to drill your own holes) and everything will fall into place. Well-made, sturdy, and distressed to perfection!.
There was nothing negative to say about the chairs; they were in perfect condition and were simple to assemble on my own. It went above and beyond my expectations. If I needed more than the six I already had, I would purchase again. It is cheaper than the same item in the Ashley showroom, so you will save money by purchasing it on Amazon.
It has a distinct "distressed" appearance. Prior to assembly, make sure everything is in working order. I bought six ladder back style chairs. The chair backs on four of the six had cracks, but the boxes were unharmed. Because they were stacked outside my door on the opposite side of the arrows pointing up, the weight of the package was on the chair backs, I believe it was due to the handling. I decided to return in the end. Even if they didn't have so many cracks, I would have returned for the colors and distress, which were more than I was looking for.
We decided on the rustic French Country style when shopping for a new dining room set, and the Ashley Realyn set with the oval table was chosen. When fully assembled, these chairs are well-made and incredibly sturdy. The seat cushioning is sufficient for extended sitting, and the woven fabric is attractive and heavy. Because the fabric is porous, I would suggest using a fabric protector before using it.
