CANCER CAUSINGbr>br>Basically, that sticker was attached to the chair when it arrived in the mail. According to my research, the chair contains a chemical that can cause cancer or birth defects in children. I couldn't keep it and had to give it back.
It appears to be slightly different from the first one I bought. The odd thing is that the chair has an $89. 00 Ross (discount department store) price tag sticker on it. 99 sat in the chair's underside seat. This struck me as a little strange. And the sticker left a bothersome residue that I haven't been able to completely remove. The backs of the chairs were too short to fit at my dining room table, and the arms were too high, preventing the chairs from fully burying the seat. So, instead of buying a complete set for the table, I bought a second chair and placed it in the corner by my buffet table as an accent chair.
I'm both surprised and dissatisfied with the outcome. This chair is not at all something I would recommend! I'd been considering a few clear chairs to go with my new dining set and had finally decided to buy a few. This one comes in last because every chair I bought was under $100, and this one was the most expensive. With a price tag of $97, this is a great value. br>The chair I got has a lot of scratches on it, as well as a lot of tape residue on the back. It's also not as sturdy as another one I bought for a fraction of the price (and which appears to be identical). You should save your money and get a new chair.
The shipping was quick, and the packaging was sufficient. There are no flaws in the item as described. It appears to be in good condition. The shipping was quick, and the packaging was sufficient. However, the chair is smaller than expected, being a fraction of the size of a standard kitchen chair.
I've wanted one of these chairs for a long time and have finally decided to purchase one. I've never made a better decision in my life. All things clear and glass, especially furniture, are OBSESSIONS of mine. The originals in Vegas were the first time I saw one of these chairs. I was strolling through the Grand Canal Shoppes when I noticed two of these in a store that were also for sale. They were around $500 each, which seemed a little excessive to me, but I was smitten by the concept. They also had nesting tables and a clear lucite coffee table, but let's stay on topic for now. br>br>Fast forward a few years, and I see this on Amazon, but I'm afraid to buy it because I'm not sure how well it will support my weight. My weight fluctuates between 140 and 150 pounds. I've had a lot of products buckle under me in the past, so I wasn't interested in spending close to a Benjamin in case it broke. Thankfully, this chair has held up admirably, and I'm pleased with how well it fits me and the space for which I purchased it. br>I purchased this chair for my work/filming area because I make a living filming videos and live broadcasts, and my new set space is all glass, clear, silver, and white, with a faux fur throw, faux fur rug, glass coffee table, white room divider, tufted white sofa, and sheer curtains with fairy lights, and I can honestly say it completes the filming area and makes me feel like an ice princess sitting on her throne. I'm thinking about getting the other one as well. For my desk and/or bedroom, I'd like the armless chair. I'm completely enamored with this style and am overjoyed that I finally took the plunge and purchased it. VERDICT: br>br> br>If you have any reservations about this chair, as I did, I can assure you that once you hold it in your hands, any reservations you may have will vanish. It's lovely, well-made, sturdy, and capable of supporting a significant amount of weight. If you're looking for furniture with this particular "look," I can almost certainly guarantee it. It'll be a great accent piece, if not the focal point, in any bedroom, living room, or dining room, and it's a great value for what you'll get.
It looks exactly like the picture, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it, but the bottom line is. . . It's a shabby lawn chair at an exorbitant price. I was expecting thick, sturdy acrylic, but these have the wobble of a cheap plastic outdoor chair's legs. (This is a huge letdown. ) Even if you don't have hips, you'll find it a tight fit due to the arms. I really like it, but I wouldn't have paid $85 for it if I had seen it in a store. (In fact, $40 would be a stretch).
After 18 months of daily use by toddlers, these remain in excellent condition. It's a great alternative to them destroying upholstered chairs with their filthy hands and insatiable demands. They also don't slip when walking on tile. Scratch-free, easy to clean, and stylish enough to impress guests (at least, that's what I think).
