" I bought the medium "LUCID 10 Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress" on its own and found it to be a little too firm for my liking. I'm a 25-year-old man who weighs 170 pounds; I don't consider myself obese, but I did find that I needed a little more "give" from my mattress. It just didn't feel right. In retrospect, I should have just bought the medium-sized version. The mattress is available in a plush version. br>br>After a few weeks of searching on Amazon, I came to the conclusion that this "Lucid Foam Mattress Topper Combo" would be the most comfortable option! It would keep the gel topper in place, which I've heard can be a pain, and the cotton mattress pad would provide me with additional comfort. I thought it would be the best of both worlds in terms of comfort. br>br>How wrong I was. In a way, yes. Having both was extremely comfortable for me, almost as good as having a new mattress. It had a nice give to it, as if it were a blanket hugging you. But that's exactly what I found out. It's very hot to be wrapped in a cotton blanket. I've been waking up sweating every day for almost a month now; it's simply too hot and not worth the extra "give. " I live in Colorado, and it's currently summer, and it's just too hot. This is coming from someone who grew up in a filthy, swampy part of Florida. br>br>Anyway, I'm going to take off the cotton mattress pad, contact the company, and replace it with a regular fitted sheet, leaving the gel topper alone. That's something I'll keep you informed about. Unless you live in Antarctica or Alaska and need the extra warmth, I believe this is a better solution. The product has a good combination of padding and a soft contour for your body, which helps to prevent pressure point pain. I am very pleased with the product; my only concern is that it continues to perform as well after three months. 6 months. I'll provide an update, but for the money spent, it's been well worth it, even if only for these three nights and that nap. OMG. Some may complain that it is too hot or that there is too much sink, but that is not the case for me. It was also very good for my lower back. We slept in a bed that was extremely difficult to adjust. We ordered this one after purchasing two different toppers and stacking them to no avail. Before putting it on the bed, we let it rise overnight. There was no odor at all, which was something I was worried about. We were blown away when we placed these two pieces on the bed! We are now unwilling to leave our beds! The firm mattress has no effect on us. This is something I would strongly recommend!.
