I did, and it was comfortable, but the 3" memory foam I bought didn't require anything else. I decided to use it as a blanket by putting it in a duvet cover. Weighted blankets are heavier, more comfortable, and more expensive. I probably would not have looked for a topper if I had purchased the memory foam first.
This mattress topper provides excellent support for people who are larger in stature. Although it doesn't perform as well as a 6in gel mattress topper, which is twice the size, it is more comfortable and cooler. It's big enough to fit half of a king-size bed. It seems to work quite well, according to what I've read. I'm sorry, but I haven't worked with twin XLs before.
It is dependent on what you are comparing it to. I put it on top of a layer of latex, which sleeps cool, and this topper does raise the temperature.

So, here's the deal: if you're looking for a star product, you've come to the right place. It's as if you're sleeping on a cloud, and it's as fluffy as a cloud. It appeals to me. I read some reviews that gave it a one-star rating. Prior to receiving it, I gave it three stars. I'm not sure why some people complained that it wasn't thick and fluffy, but you dirty butts have to wash it! It's vacuum sealed, so it's squished into this small bag and kept airtight for "x" amount of time. "UGGHHH," I thought when I got it out. It's completely level. But I'm going to wash and dry it and give it a shot. " So, after washing and drying it, it regains its fluffy shape and you're ready to go. A word of advice: wash any new bedding you buy! They do not wash it for you, not only because you have no idea where it has been sitting in a warehouse with dust and it may still have debris from where it was made in a factory, but also because you have no idea where it has been sitting in a warehouse with dust. If you buy something directly from a department store, WASH IT! Aaaand these days, even if it's brand new and purchased from a nice department store or wherever, you risk being infested with bedbugs. Any bedbugs or their eggs will be killed by the heat of the dryer if you wash and DRY. People, it's time to clean your new bedding. This product receives five stars because it is well-made, comfortable, and provides adequate cushioning and support for my firm bed. Tonight I'm sleeping like a baby.

I bought a TempurPedic mattress earlier this year because they're supposed to be excellent at reducing pressure points and thus pain. For several years, I slept on a low-cost memory foam mattress, and as time (and age) passed, I began to wake up with hip pain. I didn't do a lot of research into the best type of mattress for hip pain relief. Instead, I went to a mattress store and explained my problems, after which I was directed to the TempurPedic, which I purchased and found to be satisfactory. I believe my hip pain has subsided. I didn't realize the TempurPedic wasn't working for me until I returned home from vacation and slept in "normal" beds. My hips weren't hurting in the morning during my vacation, which I hadn't noticed. The hip pain returned the next morning after sleeping at home. I was stuck, of course, because it was past their 90-day trial period. I had read (too late) that wearing a plush top is the best way to relieve hip pain. So I went to Amazon and found this topper, as well as some positive reviews about it helping to relieve hip pain. I've been using it for about a week, and as of this morning, I haven't woken up in pain. I'm sure it'll pass, but any day without pain is a better day in my opinion. If you have hip or lower back pain, I strongly advise you to try this topper.
