The trunk isn't quite as solid as I had hoped. On the sides and bottom, I believe it is made of wood, but it is quite thin. I purchased it as extra storage for my college student. It does the job, but I wouldn't use it for anything particularly demanding.

Yes. The trunk has a simple key lock, as well as a hasp that you can use to secure your belongings with your own padlock.

This purchase has left me feeling unsatisfied. I even looked in the trunk for a hidden "made in China" sticker/stamp because the quality is so poor. I noticed a small ding on the top covering before I even took it out of the box. "Minor scratches," read the invoice from my seller. " Then there was one of the nailheads on the side that wasn't completely hammered in (I could have hammered it in a little more but didn't want to risk doing more damage, so I didn't). One of the feet was crooked, and one of the corners was crooked. Due to the numerous flaws, I believe this seller received a discount on this product. Also, whatever the material is that runs along all of the edges and into which the nailheads are nailed is odd. It appeared to me to be cardboard, at least in appearance, but when I tapped on it, it sounded like plastic. It's a bargain. But I'm not returning it because I'll be sending it to summer camp with my son, and it should suffice for that. Furthermore, it is extremely heavy, and I paid more for shipping than I did for the product (although the overall cost was lower than elsewhere - I don't want to deal with it because it's a regrettable decision. br>br>However, I was disappointed.
I'm looking for the other handle, but I can't seem to locate it. This item has recently arrived, and it appears to be in good condition at first glance. We'll see how it responds after a few weeks at camp. However, there is a LARGE DISAPPOINTMENT. The handle is on the WRONG side; the handle is on the end with the wheels, as seen in the picture. You'd think there'd be one on the OTHER SIDE, so you could actually pull it on the wheels. However, you would be completely incorrect. It's a little absurd.
However, the price has risen to an absurdly high level. I bought four of these to keep my belongings in when I have to leave my extended stay hotel room on occasion. They have a lot of usable interior space, and the fact that they can be wheeled around makes it a lot easier to move them around. I also appreciate the fact that they can be padlocked shut. True, the latches' fittings aren't exactly bomb-proof. They're not enough to deter a casual thief, but they're enough to make any thief leave clear evidence of their crime. As a result, this is an effective deterrent. br>br>However, I've noticed that the price of these trunks has risen dramatically in recent months. I'm not sure if it's because the season is approaching the start of college football or something else. As a result, I believe they've lost a lot of value for the prices they're asking now. br>br>I was also irritated by the slowness with which the orders were processed. There is a multi-level marketing strategy in place. Between the time you place your order on Amazan and the time the trunk company processes it through their system, there is a day delay. br>br>I'm glad I got them at a discount, but I'll be looking for a different vendor for any future purchases.
It's been almost six months since I got it. It's a waste of time. It's been almost 6 months since I got it - It's starting to fall apart, and I'm wishing I hadn't bought it in the first place. I wish I had the option to return it for a full refund.
Really nice trunk, good wheels, sturdy enough to store things in and sit on on occasion; It appeals to me greatly; However, I would not ship anything particularly heavy in it. Ping-pong balls or feather pillows are two possibilities. Actually, I wouldn't ship it unless it was absolutely necessary, as I believe it would easily get dinged and scratched. A trunk this large and attractive, with which you could confidently ship 50 to 75 pounds of belongings, would cost three times as much and still get dinged and scratched.
The new footlockers aren't as durable as the old ones (the ones I remember from my childhood), but they get the job done. We had to let it air out to get rid of the chemical odor in the trunk (which then permeated everything you put in it), but everything is now fine. The lock mechanism is strong, and we've successfully used both a key lock and a heavier combination lock. This will eventually accompany my nephew to college.
Add wheels and handles (there could be a little more "play" in the handles, they're a little tight against the trunk) and you've got pretty much everything you need for storage that can also be used as a coffee table and a place to eat (have a piece of plexiglass I had cut to the size of the trunk), and you've got pretty much everything you need. It works for me, but I'm not going to be traveling with it or roughing it up in any way, so I can't comment on how well it will hold up under those conditions.
Nice and roomy, but not as sturdy as I had hoped. It is, however, very well made and sturdy enough to serve as a bench. It's just that I don't want to overpack it. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.
