Hi Erma. Its dimensions are ideal for a small table. The back of this trunk, however, is black. Only the front, lid, and two sides are finished in weathered wood. There are other Household Essentials trunks with a 4-year warranty, such as the wood and metal trunks. This is a side finish that would be better suited for a coffee table. I hope this information is useful.

So I looked for a decent box that would look nice in my foyer to hold my husband's stupid remote control cars so that I wouldn't trip over them when I walked in the front door. This one looked nice, and the dimensions were perfect for the area I needed it for. Unfortunately, after receiving it, I've joined the ranks of those who think this box is mediocre and should be worth much less. br>br>As you can see from my photos: It isn't whitewashed in any way. It's definitely more of a grayish brown color. Fortunately, it still goes with my decor, which is a plus. The quality of the work is poor. I've marked the spots on the planks where they don't even try to match up. The one on the right, on the other hand, is a little off-kilter. Yes, it has a strong "cedar" scent to it. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it smells awful. I don't use it for clothing items, but if you do, I recommend doing what another user suggested and cleaning it out beforehand. Even after measuring it, it's much smaller than I expected. I can only fit two of the three cars I need it for into the box, which kind of defeats the purpose of why I bought it in the first place. The fact that it comes fully assembled is a plus. br>br>.
I was apprehensive about getting this because of the negative reviews. It didn't have to be perfect because it's only for keeping a litter box in. It turned out to be much better than I had anticipated. Because the back is not made of wood, it must be placed against a wall. But it makes me happy!.
Another update for the month of January (26): The replacement for a previous defective trunk is splitting on three sides, the lid is completely off center, which was the reason for returning the previous trunk, and is even worse than the first, and the side "supports" at the top of the unit are separating from the trunk. STAY AWAY! br>br> There isn't a single penny worth it. br>br>January 2022br>br>I've only had this trunk for a couple of months and the entire top has warped. Returning the item and receiving a replacement. br> Leaving the problems with this unit aside, the size is still suitable for my needs. br>br>December 2021br>br> It needs to be cleaned both inside and out before use, and the surface is still quite rough. br>br>Another one was required for the storage of additional plant supplies. This will have to suffice until someone comes up with a trunk that is reasonably priced and has these dimensions. Make sure the leather doesn't come into contact with the sides that are exposed. br>br>The first thing you should do is thoroughly clean this piece, both inside and out, as it is filthy. Some of it is accumulated dust from manufacturing and warehousing, while others are leftover stains from manufacturing. br>br>The second thing you should do is add clear plastic bumpers to all eight corners, top and bottom, of the chest, because the corners are very rough and a scratch from this piece will almost certainly result in an infection. If the piece is going to be placed on carpet, add furniture sliders to the bottom of it. Attach directly to the small black pads that are already on the piece with crazy glue. br>br>I bought this unit because of its dimensions, which are ideal for my requirements. I bought it to put under an existing piece of furniture, and the only reason I'm keeping it is because I needed a tall chest to store unused planters, plant lights, and other small electric accessories and plant supplies. br>br>This item should not cost more than forty or fifty dollars to sell. Whether it has a rustic appearance or not, the piece is riddled with small holes, and the top is extremely rough, with a high risk of splinters. Replace the doormat or other heavy material on top. In the warehouse, we bought a medium-sized trunk. The trunk was almost completely put together when it arrived. The side and lid were not attached due to a defect. I'm not sure if this trunk is completely assembled if you pay full price. br>br>Because of the price and appearance, I'm giving 5 stars. I got a great deal on a trunk in the warehouse, but it had problems:br>- The top was not attached, but it had been attached previously. br>- I nailed the side and top (I need more nails for the side)br>I read the reviews before I bought it: br>THE NOISE is a bracket that keeps the lid in place and prevents it from slamming down. It clicks when you open or close it, and that's all there is to it. br>THE WOOD, being authentic, will have some flaws, which adds to its charm. br>THE SMELL, mine was devoid of odor. br>It appears to have been poorly put together, and you may need to reinforce it with common household nails. br>OVERALL, a decent-sized trunk with an aged appearance that is good value for money if you can get it in the warehouse. br>*I keep my supplies in the trunk and use the top to stage photos. It appeals to me, but it does not enthrall me. The color in the picture appears to be grey, but it is actually a brownish, greenish, mustardy hue. I made the mistake of purchasing two, and now I'm stuck trying to figure out what to do with them because they don't match my room's decor. I guess you can win some and lose some. br>Apart from the color, it's an attractive piece.
I was taken aback by how light the trunk was when it arrived. I was a little apprehensive about opening it. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a good size and appeared to be EXACTLY as shown in the pictures. Nothing had been scratched, harmed, or otherwise harmed. The only thing that disappointed me was that the entire trunk, with the exception of the back, is made of real wood. The back is some kind of hd or md fiber board, similar to hard backing board, but the hinges appear to be sturdy and well attached, so I can't really complain. Overall, I really enjoy it!.
For scale, I took a photo of the stairwell. We live in a farmhouse with a porch where we can rock in our rocking chairs. Our 'rocker blankets' are kept in this small chest, so you can grab one as you leave with a cup of coffee. It can easily hold four folded throws. It's just the right size to avoid blocking the hallway. It's well-made and has a nice finish. It was well worth the money!.
