The purest form of Ion is not There is a photo on the advert representing the real Pur Maxion filter, which in fact is a counterfeit. A mysterious package arrived with a teal color and a name that sounds like it comes from Pur Plus. You will be taken to Pure Organics (not Pur water filters) when you click on the Pur store link at top of the advertisement. Pur dot com website does not sell a product called "Pur Plus" as depicted on the box I received. Additionally, the Pur dot com website does not display the actual "pur genuine guarantee" badge on the packaging I received.
So far, I have only tested 2 of the 5 filters that were included in this box set, and both have blocked my stream. My first attempt at filtering water did not succeed even after I followed the standard methodology for preparing the filters. I had to discard it since tiny drops dared to leak away here and there every few minutes. On the second, I use a filter that passes water so slowly that only one side of the filter is letting in filtered water. The prices are extremely high, so I am very disappointed. I will not purchase these filters again, and I am not sure whether used filters were repackaged.
