Questions & Answers

What filter size should I get for this pitcher?

Will any brita filter brand, regardless of size, fit in the same pitcher?

Is this something that could be stored in a small refrigerator?

It's around 9 o'clock in the morning. inches tall, about ten years old approximately 4 inches from handle to spout I don't own a mini fridge, and even if I did, I'm sure they'd all be different inside; however, if you can remove the shelf and your mini fridge looks like the ones I've seen, you should be fine. If that's the case, I'm sure it'll work. I hope you find the measurements useful.

When you pour, does the lid stay on?

When pouring, the lid does stay in place. This product has exceeded my expectations.

What is the best way to remove the reservoir from a 5 cup metro pitcher?

Hello! We're sorry to hear your reservoir has become stuck, and we'd like to offer some suggestions to assist you. We recommend pulling the reservoir up from the body evenly on all sides with two hands. If that doesn't work, set it out on the counter to cool. This works because the tank expands slightly as the water warms up and displaces, allowing the reservoir to loosen slightly. To make removal easier, place your finger between the reservoir and the pitcher in the spout area. Only certain metals are removed
3/5

Following the filtering, I determined the TDS (total dissolved solids). It's still the same (150 ppm) as tap water that hasn't been filtered. When I contacted Britta Tech Support, I was told that the product only removes chlorine and a few metals like copper. Not at all what I had anticipated.

Pitcher extraordinaire; READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE GOING ANY FURTHER
5/5

First and foremost, read the instructions before using this pitcher. br>br>I had an old Brita that needed to be replaced. I'm not sure how old my unit was, but I decided to replace it with one that was BPA-free. This newer model appears to be more attractive than the previous boxy white model. br>There were a few negative reviews that I'd like to address so that other potential buyers aren't put off. br>Is there a problem with the filter? If the filter is not oriented correctly, water will flow in without being filtered. My filter was exactly what I needed. Before using the filter, you must first run cold water through it (as directed by the manufacturer). Before you use the pitcher, make sure it's clean. I couldn't get the fill insert out of the clear plastic base until I ran some soapy water through it all, and it slid right out. br>What if the water in the fill area does not drain into the bottom container? That is not the case in my case. It only took a minute and a half. I did notice, however, that the fill area only has enough water to fill half of the bottom container. As a result, I refilled the top, and the water perfectly filled the bottom. br>In conclusion, this pitcher is attractive enough for the table but compact enough for the refrigerator.

Look at the water you're drinking
3/5

This filter has been in my possession for exactly one week. To get clean water, I've had to run the tap through it several times. But it didn't bother me in the least. br>br>The real problem is that I just poured some water to make tea with and noticed black flecks in my cup. I thought it might be coming from my cup (despite the fact that I'd just rinsed and wiped it before pouring the water in) because it was mostly at the bottom. So, while it filtered, I poured the same water through the filter again, wiping the leftover specs from my cup. I noticed the black specs once more when I poured it! I saw specs even after filtering it a third time. Although not as frightening as the first time, it is still unsettling. br>br>I decided to compare and see if it was contamination from the unfiltered water that was passing through. So I poured myself a cup of plain tap water, and THAT WAS CLEAR. I'm not sure if the metals clump together during the filtration process, but that's what I'm seeing as specifications. But, in any case, I believe it's reasonable to anticipate that whatever it is will not pass through and that your water will be clear, especially after multiple filtrations. And this is especially true after only a week of filter use.

Pitcher gets four stars, while the gimic gets two
3/5

To be honest, our Brita Large 10 Cup Water Filter Pitcher is one of our favorites. My wife uses the Brita for our coffee maker on a regular basis, while I only use it once in a while. I'm only concerned about suspended particles because I don't want them in my coffee maker, so it's just big enough for the two of us. As far as I can tell, the pitcher does what it's supposed to do, and we haven't noticed any signs that our coffee maker is becoming fouled with suspended solids while it's doing its job. The locking lid is one of the features that we find difficult to use. It pays off in terms of preventing spills, especially when there's water in the reservoir and we're filling the coffee maker. I know it filters at least some of the suspended solids because when we finally replaced the filter, it had more than doubled in weight and some of the particulate had backed up in the filter. br>br>Now we come to the feature that I don't trust, or have found to be untrustworthy: The light that serves as an indicator It's unclear how it determines the filters' status. I believe, and have reason to believe, that it is a simple counter that counts down based on the number of times the on button is pressed. Otherwise, I'm guessing it's more about promoting replacement filter sales than it is about tracking the filter's condition. When we notice that filtering water takes longer than usual and check the status of the filter, we replace it. No electronics were used in our method, and we got the desired result. The indicator light has never been anything other than green in my experience. br>br>Disassembly is difficult, and if you're picky about being able to clean in detail, our experience hasn't been good; we can only clean it enough for our sensitivities. Overall, we are pleased with our Brita Large 10 Cup Water Filter Pitcher. If that was all I had to say, I'd be satisfied. It mostly does what it says on the tin, and it's worth four stars. The electronics, on the other hand, make me uneasy. They don't think they're needed, and they can't vouch for its accuracy.

The Space Saver of the Century
4/5

This was purchased to replace a three-year-old Brita that had cracked. I like how it doesn't take up as much space in the refrigerator as most standard models do. This unit is suitable for one or two people; however, if you have a family, you should consider upgrading. br>It's also worth noting that this Brita is the real deal. It came in a Brita shipping box and was properly packaged. Check out the images.

The pitcher is the right size, but the refilling system could be better
4/5

I've been a long-time Brita user, and I switched to a 5-cup pitcher to see if it would work for us. It appears to be the case! It is not as heavy as the 10 cup version, and it is the perfect size, with the exception of when we have visitors. You won't be able to serve a large number of people from this, so you'll have to refill and wait for the filtering to finish. I also wish it had an opening flap type of opening rather than having to remove the lid every time I needed to refill.

The ideal size for a refrigerator in the office
5/5

I bought this to keep in my work fridge - It's the ideal size for a workday's worth of water, and the slim design means it takes up little space, leaving plenty of room for lunches. Although the water from the fountain is untrustworthy, I am at ease knowing that my Brita filter is removing any contaminants before I drink it. I can detect a difference, which provides me with some comfort. I really like the turquoise color. Not too bright, not too green or blue - It's just a pleasant hue. (It's true that some people are color-blind. ) When lifting a full pitcher, the handle is comfortable. The lid easily comes off and on, making refilling a breeze. It only takes a few moments to replace the filter. It was also painless. I've told a few people about it. You can't go wrong with this deal.
