The filter I originally ordered was not suitable for this product, so I purchased a replacement. I have now used 3 of these "longlife" filters and will not be using any more of them. There is one that came with the Monterey pitcher and two that I purchased separately. Despite being made of plastic, all 3 filters lasted less than one week each. Considering that each filter lasts 6 months (reported on carton as 3X standard filter, which is 2 months) when filtered once or twice per day, it makes sense that each should last that long. The company contacted me to hear my complaint and shipped six standard replacement filters to me. In addition to the bad filters, we should have received nine standard ones to make up for them. Moreover, we purchased this filter so it could eliminate lead from our water. As far as I can tell, we do not have any ratings on the standard filters. Due to the extremely high number of complaints against the Longlife filter, it is unconscionable that this product has not been completely removed from sale. It is available in stores as well as here.
