The well water we have has a lot of lime & sulfate in it Water with a higher mineral content. I purchased this after my daughter bought a Brita to which I had to replace the filter at least once a week because of the hardness of the water and the debris that it collected. There are two elements in lime calcium and lime. I was throwing lime around like crazy because I had to use lime away every week and the coffee pot's descaling light would come on every week when I scrubbed what could be cleaned. My small appliances eventually stopped working or turned green, even when I scrubbed what could be cleaned. As I saw this, I decided to post it. I thought that natural filters were awesome. We were left with no hope and this was our last resort The moment it arrived, I set it up according to the instructions. As a result, I have noticed no more green/lime in the ice tea maker and the water. Regarding the coffee maker, since then there has been no effect of the descaler light coming on. As for the taste, it is like you are drinking water right from a natural spring. The container must always be filled with water to make sure the filter remains wet, once it is placed in the container, I take it out once weekly to wash and keep a fresh filter in a bowl of water. I then replace the filter & return the container to power. Make sure that all fields are filled in and We found that the only downside was that it takes up a lot of space in the refrigerator, but yes, it is very worth it.

I really love this. My husband and I enjoyed using a large PUR unit with a spout for many years. My interest was piqued when I saw this unit and the cartridge filtration is comparable so I decided Despite its size, it is not a big deal. Water filtered by it tastes just as good as PUR water. So far, I've been using it about a month and I probably fill it twice a day but the cartridge still works fine. The only difference is that I put back in what I take out of it as I use it. It is better to let it run dry rather than letting it sit there soaking wet. Replace water every time you use it is a simple matter of common sense. Since I never have to wait longer than a few seconds to filter, I don't think it takes that long It is a good idea to soak a new filter first to remove particles and air/prime it before using it. If you don't hurry, you will have to wait! This is a sturdy plastic that is decently made A heavier grade of PUR was used in my unit. I think a larger size would also be better. The spigot is great - however I would like it to be larger. I had no issues whatsoever. There is no mess in the flow I like the direct stream which I can aim into a bottleneck. Because my PUR had a wide stream it was pretty impossible to pull the lever that way without creating a mess if you weren't careful.

The PUR faucet has been my constant source of water - The filters have stayed on my faucet until now and I have been happy with them, however I had to get the filter off later, so I decided to replace the filter.
