The FOOD probe has a 6-inch overall length, including the grip. 3/4". It's a 4-star rating if you don't count the grip. 5/8". br>br>The OAL of the BARBEQUE probe, including the grip, is 5-inches. 1/8". It's 3" when you don't count the grip.
Yes, any thermometer can be calibrated. At the very least, you'll be able to determine whether or not it's correct. Simply boil some water in a sauce pan on the stove for this type of probe thermometer. Wait until the water reaches a full rolling boil before inserting the probe tip. br>If your unit reads 212 degrees at sea level, it's accurate and functional. br>When doing this, use an oven mitt. If you don't want to get burned, this is the place to be.
A total of three probes have been installed. The probe in the cooker reaches or exceeds 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The other two are meat probes, which suggest ideal temperatures for a variety of meats and internal temperatures. I used it as an oven and a grill, while reading all three books in the next room. It would be overkill for the oil and difficult to keep the other ingredients in the meat if it were used for a deep fryer.
I haven't tried it that way, but I would if the maximum temperature for the thermometer isn't exceeded.

for now. The true reason for this review is that, for the time being, this product performs as expected. This is the third digital wireless thermometer that I've purchased. The other two worked for a short time as well, but the webber one, which uses the app, is garbage; it stopped working after two or three cooks. After that, I tried a different off-brand that worked for two cooks. br>br>This one appears to be a little more stable, and the inside temperature probe is my favorite feature. I'm interested in knowing how hot the grates are. If you smoke a lot of food, you already know that the internal temperature isn't all that important as long as the smoker temperature stays consistent. It's all about being in the right place at the right time. As long as the smoke temperature is correct, the internal temperatures work out, and I've tried it and it works. br>br>A couple of things I'll do to try to extend the life of the unit: clean it thoroughly after each use. To avoid corrosion, remove the batteries from both units after each use. Keep the unit in its original box rather than tossing it in with the other BBQ accessories until next time; I'll revisit this review after a few more cooks.
br>Here are my thoughts on the benefits and drawbacks of this product:
1. It includes three excellently constructed probes. br> 2 The transmitter and receiver have already been paired, allowing for easy temperature monitoring from a distance. br> 3 The temperature ranges for the various types of meat were perfectly accurate.
4. The range was excellent, and the signal was never lost. I usually smoke meat overnight, but now I don't have to worry because I can sleep with the wireless monitor next to me and hear the alarm beep when the meat is done. br>br>Of course, if the product comes in a variety of colors, that would be even better, but overall, I am very pleased with it and would strongly recommend it:.
I placed my order on Saturday night, and it arrived on Sunday night. On Monday, I smoked a pork shoulder for 11 hours with it. It did what it said it would. br>br>I put all three probes in boiling water and they all read correctly. The probe that was used to monitor the smoker revealed how inaccurate the stock smoker thermometer is. br>br>If anything changes after a few uses, I'll update the review.
The wireless device synchronizes without a hitch. The only (minor) criticism is that the timer runs out at 99 minutes. Because the timer is set at 59 minutes, you must reset it for longer cooks.
It's precise and simple to understand. The bad news is that the range of the remote control is terrible. With no obstructions in the way, the line of sight is about 80'. It's about 20' with a single wall. I'm not going to buy anything else.
I put this unit to use about 2 hours after it was delivered. It arrived on time, and the meat had been marinating in preparation for the tracked delivery. This was my first time using a new charcoal grill with a side smoker. I kept an eye on the grill while it cooked a pork tenderloin and a pork roast at a low temperature (at or below 200F) for 3 hours, using apple chunks as the smoking wood. The readout monitor was either in the house or in the garage with me. The grill was set up in the backyard, and the low grill temperature and meat temperature alarms were blaring. The unit has icons for pig, turkey, chicken, beef, lamb, and other meats, and it automatically sets a maximum temperature for a few different temperatures such as medium, well done, and so on. The meat was cooked to perfection.
I bought this to keep track of how long I was smoking meat, but it's also come in handy for traditional cooking. The three probes are fantastic, particularly the ambient probe for monitoring the temperature of the air inside the cooker. The wirelessaster unit is also fantastic. I don't have to worry about losing it because I can take it anywhere in the house and still get the readings. It has a good range. I was able to get it to work through walls at a distance of 100 feet. The ability to customize temperature ranges is also useful for alerting and monitoring temperature ranges for different foods. I'd say mine had a 5-degree accuracy in temperature readings. It's 10 degrees hotter than it should be, so I lower it to 5-degrees. The temperature is 10 degrees lower than it should be. Aside from that, I enjoy being able to place the probes in the food and unit and have them stay there the entire time. I highly recommend this product because it does a great job, has a lot of features, and is very affordable.
I debated getting a Kamado Joe Grill (or any smoker for that matter), and my main concern was keeping track of the temperature without sacrificing the grill's effectiveness (by not opening it). After considering a variety of options, including wireless, I decided on this model based on customer reviews. My first project, I must say, went off without a hitch. It's simple to set up and keep track of. I was able to unwind while cooking because I knew my grill was taking care of everything. I told a friend about your product, and he's going to buy one this week.
