Despite numerous emails, LavaTools has failed to respond to a warranty submission. I would advise you to stay away from this company's products and "Lifetime Warranty. " When you don't honor a lifetime warranty, it's easy to give it away.
I liked this thermometer at first because it gave accurate readings and the magnet feature was convenient for storage. The battery lasts a long time, and the auto-recharge feature is convenient. Shutting down the computer can help with this. However, after about a year of use, it began to give false readings. Consider the following scenario. My house is 70 degrees F, but this says - If you remove the battery frequently enough, it may eventually begin to read correctly. It may work properly again after being turned off and stored for a few days. The issue then becomes not knowing if it would work at a time when I was in desperate need of it. br>br>The WORST part is the lack of Lavatools support. A lifetime warranty is one of the main bullet points in the item description, but lavatools has not responded to my multiple warranty inquiries. You complete and submit a form on their website, but no confirmation, ticket number, or other information is sent to you via email. So you don't have a reference for the next contact, and they haven't responded to my requests (1 from over a month ago, 2 from over a week ago). I'm forced to give this two stars because of the poor customer service.
When the read thermometer worked, it was fantastic. My thermometer, on the other hand, has recently failed. An error message appears on the display, which then turns off. I've replaced the battery several times, but the problem persists; I noticed that Lavatools provides a lifetime warranty; However, they did not respond when I contacted them about my problem a week ago. Because of the positive reviews and the lifetime warranty, I decided to purchase this thermometer.
**Update*
I've had this for a couple of months and it's fantastic. I like how it has a magnet on it so I can simply stick it to my stove. I've also had the opportunity to put the waterproofing (which is why I chose this one) to the test, and so far it's held up well, having survived a few washes as well as the deadly dip that killed my previous thermometer. br>br>**Original*
So far, it has performed as expected. I haven't put the "water proofing" to the test, but it does read a lot faster than my previous "instant read" temperature probe, which I thought read pretty quickly.
Exactly what was said - quick and precise br>br>UPDATE: br>br> After ten months of employment, I decided to leave. When the program is first started, it displays a blank screen. It didn't make a difference whether I used an old battery or a new one When I tried to play with the battery, I got - After closing and re-opening, the 58-degree reading disappeared. opened. br>br>Only used on roasted chickens about 10 times. Never been mistreated in any way. Wetness is never an issue. It's only going to be stuffed into a chicken. After reading other reviews, I've decided that contacting Lavatools is pointless. I will not buy anything from them in the future. The only way to get the thing to work, according to a one-star review, was to press on the battery. That appeared to work after a few tries. I stuffed a wad of paper on top of the battery and it now appears to be showing the proper temperature. I expect to have to open and fiddle with the battery every time I use it in the future, so I'll stick with my other standard thermometers.
This thermometer, on the other hand, has been in my kitchen drawer for almost two years, next to the old-fashioned thermometer. I was replacing an old one with a new one - because the old one had a temperature reading that was about 10 degrees higher than it should have been Over the years, I'd always take out my snazzy new digital meter, only to watch the readings jump around wildly - After that, I'll take out my tried-and-true old- Simply add 10 degrees to an old-fashioned thermometer. I thought it was just me because I'd seen so many positive reviews, but after looking at the most recent ones, I see I'm not alone. The same problem has been reported by others. $25 is a significant amount of money, and I'm only sorry I didn't try to contact the manufacturer sooner. I've filed a complaint with Warranty Support, and I'll update this post once I hear back.
The most economical option! I never expected to be so enthusiastic about a kitchen tool, but I was in desperate need of an accurate instant read thermometer, and this one is the best; it's so quick and simple to use that I use it all the time now. I've been suffering from the dreaded "so-called" They're called grocery store instant read thermometers, and they're awful. BUY THIS FOR AN EXTRA FEW DOLLARS! Boil water and test it if you ever have any doubts about the accuracy. Distilled water boils at 212 degrees Fahrenheit when measured at sea level. The stated precision is /- The temperature is currently 9 degrees. That was my experience as well! Because of the 4-second response time, you won't have to hold your hand over a hot pot while a temperature rises, or turn off your oven to check meat. I'm going to order one for a friend as a gift because she liked it so much. Stop waffling and just get it if you've made it this far! There is no better or more useful thermometer on the market. Min/max hold, beeps, or buttons aren't necessary, and a longer probe, rotating display, or backlight aren't necessary. This is unquestionably a must-have!.
Accurate. Meats that are absolutely delicious. You never realize what you're missing out on until you've had the opportunity to experience it for yourself. That appears to be a good description for this thermometer. I've never been a big fan of cooking thermometers. I always used the store's $5 specials and didn't hold high expectations for accuracy. I was planning to purchase one of the $100 models recommended by a few websites, but this model appeared to be a strong contender on all of the review sites. I'm completely taken aback. It is quick and precise. It stands the test of time. It adheres to the inside of the refrigerator. It'll last a lifetime; I use it frequently when grilling and it's completely changed my game. Grilled chicken is no longer stringy and disgusting; instead, it's nice and done to perfection. I can test a few spots in seconds and judge multiple pieces of meat to perfection without having to wait. I never thought I'd say nice things about a thermometer, but this one is deserving of praise.
