It comes with two probes, two on the device itself (for stovetop measurements) and one that is inserted into meats cooking in the oven. In the case of an external probe There is only one person who takes the measurements, so it is more straightforward. especially like the fact that the device has a strong magnet on the back, because it allows me to attach it to the oven door while it measures the temperature of food inside. The 10 Amazon windows I had open at the same time were all open at once, and I read them all back and forth. Some of them were finally closed because they did not offer a compelling reason for the purchase. It took us an hour of spending way too much time. We've used it once, in our RV (small oven common to 99% of trailers & amp amp amp Including 5th wheels and expensive RVs 3) It is the top burner. Using a remote probe and prepping the sides on top of the stove was a great way to test the meatloaf in the oven. We were able to time the meal properly by watching the meatloaf temp gradually rise. As with a steak, we let the meatloaf rest (just because we can) for 5 minutes before cutting. The BBQ/Grill I bought has a probe that has five probes and cost me a lot of money. There was only one thing I needed!.

I highly recommend this thermometer

This unit is slightly beefier than the last and has a wired probe that can be inserted on the side of the body for grill and other measurements that require the probe to be longer and in a safer location. In our calibration using ice water, we noticed that the display is larger, and it matches my Fluke meter with the temperature probe very This thermometer has so far worked well for us.
