I gave them to my kindergarten students as a graduation present. They were a hit with the kids. I felt the same way! They're built to last. colorful. None of them had an unsuitable shape. I love that they came in a large resealable bag, which was especially helpful because I ordered more than I needed. They reminded me of the ones I used to have when I was a kid.
They aren't the kind of super-durable plastic that will last forever, but they should last a long time; I have some very hard plastic ones that I can throw in the dishwasher, but these aren't. I put one in the dishwasher by accident, and it completely ruined the design - I just dragged everything out. Because they are so narrow, cleaning them is difficult. I try to rinse them as soon as my kids are done with them, but if I don't, I soak them in hot water for a few minutes before rinsing them. I can get about an inch into the top with a small brush, which helps. I'm sure there are bendy teeny brushes that would work on these, but I haven't spent much time looking for them.
Everything was exactly as described! There are ten different styles in ten different colors to choose from, so there is something for everyone. The older one had gotten a couple from a school treat bag, and the younger one, of course, wanted one as well. br>br>At the same time, I switched to paper straws, which, once again, didn't last the duration of the drink due to extensive straw biting and the nature of wet paper. These are a great alternative to single-use plastic straws, which I tried to reuse a couple of times to cut down on my overall consumption. br>br>Because this is way more than I need right now, I saved the rest for future treat bags. The overall cost per unit was well worth it. br>br>If you're using it for anything other than water, such as milk, I'd recommend rinsing it right away to ensure a long life. Some styles, such as the ones that look like hearts, have a little more kinks or "pinched" zones where liquids tend to be trapped at the bottom edge. I would rinse out with warm to hot water to ensure the milk doesn't get trapped in the kinks and dry out or, worse, turn sour if left aside. Have a good time! br>br>.
These were of higher quality and sturdier construction than I had anticipated. I'd also read a lot of negative feedback about some of the other packs of straws, so I bought more than I needed just in case. My kids' friends loved them because they were all kid-friendly shapes!.
It's just a guess, but I've done it before with crazy straws that appeared to be of even higher quality than these. We've had no trouble getting liquid through any of the ones we've tried, and we've tried a variety of colors. For party favors, this is a must!.
It's difficult to drink from some of the straws due to their designs. You're going to feel a little dizzy. Furthermore, some of the straws had an opening in them, requiring us to work harder to get a sip.
A straw's functionality is limited by only a few basic requirements. You'll need a tube with two holes that are exactly the same size. One on each end, with a fair amount of patency in between. The straw isn't much more than a coffee stirrer if it doesn't have these. br>br>While these straws pass the toddler durability test, they are so wacky that liquid cannot easily pass from one end to the other. That, in my opinion, makes it rather ineffective. br>br>Unfortunately, it brings joy to the kids.
These were purchased for my son because he enjoys drinking from silly straws. These are great because they're clear, allowing me to see if they've been cleaned properly. They appear to be fairly durable, but not brittle. One of them was slightly bent by my son, but it did not break. Because there were so many in the package, I believe I got a good deal. I'll most likely send some of them to his school in goodie bags for the other students.
