It produces a good amount of ice. However, when you fill the sides up, water does tend to get into the central compartment. Similarly, you may find it difficult to break up the ice once it has been in the middle bucket for a few hours. It is also slightly difficult to get the middle bucket out at first, but once you do you can easily remove the ice cubes.

The reason I bought this to give to my mother was due to her love of ice and the fact that we usually use conventional ice trays in our freezer, so I wanted to offer her an alternative that would In comparison with buying her an ice making machine, I did not want to spend that much (plus, she did not have the space). I found this to be a good alternative. However, it was poorly made and packaged. As soon as you try to use the product according to the instructions, you realize it's not as simple as they claimed. I also found out this does NOT make full size ice cubes like they claim - There is no other way to make ice than crushed. The packaging was too fragile to gift to my mom, and if I had known that, I might have avoided buying it. Although it isn't in use, I don't have the packaging anymore, so I wish I could return it. Crushed ice will only be useful if you like it.
