I would say at least a month and it doesn't hold as many onions as claimed.
It's never been bothered by mice in the past. The refrigerator has a hook that hangs high above it.
Whole onions are meant to be stored in this bag, and therefore their odor should not be strong.

The first thing you'll notice is that it is fairly I was only able to fit 5 small onions in the container, and it was cramped and bulgy, so at best it would fit 6 small onions. The construction and fabric are too cheap to be durable it has jagged seams and cheap fabric. I was not sure if it would tear with just 5 onions inside. There is no way it can fit a big bag of onions that weighs 5 lbs. The 3lb bag of onions fit nicely in it, although I found it difficult to lift. Although it isn't as good as a bag of onions, it is still a good quality for the price, and I am glad that I no longer have to look at an ugly bag.
My garden produces many onions each year, so I wanted to keep a container for them. I bought two of these. In my growing experience, it mostly works well for me, but onions have to be dried thoroughly before using them or rotting will occur.
I agree with other reviewers who said this bag definitely is not large enough to hold 5 pounds of onions- 2 will fit in your hand. We only have room for about three pounds in there. The bag itself is strong, but it's not big enough to be useful.
