This is the first time I have bought this and thought I was going to cook something. I cannot tell you the amount of disappointment I felt. The brake fluid extraction kit I purchased was specifically for this purpose. I'm sure these tips will be helpful in making a turkey that's terrific as well.
The bulb is made of rubber and the tube is harder plastic.
As I mentioned, I use it for saltwater tanks. This one leaks around the bulb every time I use it, so I'd like to get a better one.

It is not possible to determine the color of the bulb from the main photo, but the photos showing the baster in action do seem to show the bulb relatively accurately.
Liquid would not be able to be stored for even two It was not possible for the bulb to seal itself to the tube due to a defective rubber bulb molding. In order to prevent the thing from losing suction, I installed an automotive hose clamp. It is now working as it should. (This was only done to avoid having to deal with shipping it to Amazon again. )In the event that you get a fail like I did, you can install an automotive hose clamp to fix The only reason that this was a practical solution for me was that I always have automotive repair supplies on hand since I maintain all of my own vehicles, mowers, etc. For those of you who don't, simply return it to Amazon and you will get a new one in.
There will not be a way to hold the turkey broth in until you can brush it on. My experience with this baster has been disappointing. It was my first time roasting a turkey at Thanksgiving. I had never even opened one before then. In order to bast the turkey with the broth, I squeezed the bulb and sucked in some "turkey juice. Well, before I could even bast the turkey, the broth spit out of the side. I tried holding it, I tried keeping it straight up and down. Getting a squirt all over the place was not a good experience. I am unsatisfied, even though I bought the item for a very cheap price, as I consider the product to be cheap.
This cleaner was purchased for the purpose of cleaning out a small fish tank (three gallons). For that purpose, it has worked quite well, but now that I've had it for a few months, I've noticed the bulb is starting to leak a little bit of water when I suction water from it. While I am a bit disappointed, I am still using the product. So far, it has been.
This can become a hassle if I have to haul out my large gravel vacuum to clean up little debris. My spot cleaning equipment allows me to do this every day. Therefore, my tank will look cleaner, and the quality of my water will be better since waste will not collect at the bottom of my tank that will cause ammonia to build up.
The day of Thanksgiving, I get out my relatively new clear plastic inexpensve ($20) baster to hand to my son to bast the bird. A second later I hear, "Uh mom, this isn't working" (my 32 year old says this). There was a problem with the bulb, since it didn't stay in (when squeezed) and it would pop out if you held it. There was air leakage, so the basting liquid could not be absorbed or held. There would be no way of telling precisely when my 17# bird had a bath craving, but I'll keep it short. Luckily, I wound up using duct tape to patch it and ordered a new baster (which I should have ordered in the first place), which was basically the same as my old baster of 25 years. It seems to have worked fine. We must learn from our mistakes.
Reviews and ratings are important to me The old school baster I received from Reece met all my expectations. I guess it's not very effective at holding suction and Attempting to tip the bulb vertically (not to drip liquid on your body) causes an air leak. Is it possible that I got the wrong.
