While I am at it, I use this food processor to cook bacon (just as I used to do with my old food processor). The bacon is frying, so it's time to suction out the great. My 50-year-old bartender, a little over a month ago, finally folded up his tent. I DID NOT END UP SPLITTING THE TUBE AS I NEEDED TWO BULBS. There was a lot of dust in it. Then I bought another at the local store without realizing the tube had been made of plastic. IT REACHED THE BACON FAT IN THE PAN THE MOMENT IT CAME INTO CONTACT. SMELTING WAS THE LEAST OF MY WORRYES! The lesson has been learned. MAKE BUYING GLASS YOUR GOAL! I have found one that works perfectly! It's going to be a good 50 more years for me.
Ends of the tubes will drip water. I wasted a lot of money on this. As soon as you open the end, there won't be any liquid inside because the opening is too large. One of the others I have is the same size as this one, and I can suck up any thin liquid like water and it does not drip out when I leave it. There's no point in sucking any more or less in this sh*thole it drains out no matter how much you suck up. There is the possibility that this will not happen if you have a very thick liquid. When you pick up the balloon and fill it with a liquid and let go, it will drip out if you need to suck up juice or anything thin, it will drip out as you pick it up. Apparently the end of this one was a little larger if that's the case, then when you pick up liquid it drips. The first time I let go the water dripped all over me. I tried about five times to suck up water. Unless it can hold thin liquid, it is a useless piece of crap. In my opinion, all droppers and basters are meant to contain the liquid inside and not drip out when you let go.
If you are purchasing a baster, you should spend a little extra on a heat resistant baster and you will never be disappointed. This baster is now available as well as a metal one, both heat resistant, since you will struggle to use the cheaper baster with hot gravies or liquids or may accidentally touch the bottom or side of the pan. In those cases, you will wish you had the more sturdy one. It is always a good idea to hand wash this and all basters and basting bulbs, soak if necessary, and only hand wash. Your baster will last longer if you use it in that way.
To be able to empty the power steering fluid from my car (don't ask) without damaging my good baster, I bought this as a cheap replacement for an expensive It worked perfectly for draining hamburger fat from a frying pan, so after using it for a while I kept it and used my more expensive one in It works great, has good suction, and is easily removable. The silicon bulb of this baster seals well and is easily removed. Honestly, the only complaint I have is how thin the glass seems, but it is just a small point anyway since a thicker glass would still crack if dropped and would only add to the weight.
A nice tool for a kitchen as long as it remained intact. That it eventually fell apart is inevitable, but it still delivered as far as its purpose was concerned, and was as easy to clean as could be expected from one with such a small hole I was pleased to discover that it was fine in the dishwasher, so the small opening at the business end was not Flat edges that flared from the bulb were also a nice touch. They made it easier to lay the baster down without worry that it might roll off the countertop. But without the bulb, disaster was sure to follow.
It has good suction, which is still durable to this day. In the end, there is a rather small suction "hole" - In order to keep your juice or gravy clear, chunks in the juice or gravy need to be removed In addition to keeping juice in this also serves the purpose of keeping bacteria at bay You can transfer if you want to.
This is awesome with the exception of how I feel the juices shoot out of the bottom or pour out when you suction up the juices and pick up the baster when the juices are moved to the top of your bird. Instead of plastic, I would prefer to deal with this.
Using this baster when cooking, you can easily get rid of grease from the pan. In any case, oil does have a tendency to drip when transferring to a can. These basters work so much better than plastic ones that I'm very satisfied with them.
