It's a yes. In addition to adding weight, the weight should progress in a positive manner. Furthermore, it has the option to zero out, so you can put multiple ingredients in the same bowl at the same time if you choose.

Yes, it does measure in small increments, as we do so with a scale. It is measured in both grams and ounces. A recommendation is in order.

As a result of the good reviews, it had several nice features that attracted me to it. I was surprised when I opened it to realize it was much smaller than it appeared in the image. I no longer care about that since the Tare option allows me to use a larger bowl if I need to. The material is stainless steel, so it has a sleek appearance. While I had the opportunity to test out most of the features, the temperature sensor did not perform as well as described. My test was to measure the temperature of a room temperature lemon, a refrigerated egg, and a large ice cube. As the temperature varied with each one, it wasn't necessarily representative of the item's actual temperature. I found that the only down side was that. I consider this to be a cheap piece of garbage. Once you take it out of the cabinet, it turns on, and then when you set it on the counter, it turns off.
