Since it is a FOOD scale, I thought it would be in metric by default. Nevertheless, I am not sure why anyone would get anything that doesn't AT LEAST give the option to switch to a metric system. Metric values are displayed for all nutritional facts. It's hard for me to imagine why anyone would ever make or use a scale for food that does not use metric. There is an argument to be made that recipes have imperial units, but I do not believe that the primary application of a kitchen scale.

There have been 2 months since I last wrote. After nearly five years, it still works which is a good result considering its low price. Once the batteries had to be replaced. There is nothing wrong with it. The option to display fractions of pounds instead of pounds and ounces would be preferred, but I can live with it. In the past I have used it to check the weight of items I have purchased and have found a couple that were 20% off. As a result, I probably weight less because I am more inclined to use it to weigh pasta. Using it as a scale when making bread is another way to use it. The glass quickly brittled and shattered after using it for the first time. My measurement of lye was off, but it could simply be a fluke. There was no lye left in the bucket! As a result, I have not used it since that time. Definitely a pain in the neck! I. - There was not as much detail as I would have liked in the measurement. It will take me a few minutes to measure In the end I only got nine of the 35 coconut oils I purchased. As a result, I must make an educated guess.
