Technically speaking, yes. Three-eighths of an inch is one eighth of an inch larger than one-fourth, because 1/4" equals two eighths. But who counts?
A 1/2 inch blade is included with the unit. There is also an Amazon.com page that sells a 3/8 inch replacement blade, which is more useful for me. The size I am looking for is not available in any other size.
You can do it. It would be better if there was an actual egg cutter
There is no substitute for a 3/8" blade for producing thin, delicious There is no 1/4" blade I know of. You should definitely try out the 3/8" blade if you don't already have one!
Selected User Reviews For Sopito French Fry Cutter Replacement Blade for V6, 3/8 Inch
Making our own fries is a lot of fun, but cutting them takes a lot of time. It has a thicker blade, the Sopit fry cutter I bought. It was great, but our teen loves skinny fries, so we bought this instead. With it, I make the perfect size fries and it attaches easily to my The blades came in a box, and one of the blades was kept in the box so no one got It is the other blade that we use I also appreciate how easy it is to clean.
The blade shaves black pieces of plastic off of the piece that pushes the potato through it. The black is carved into the blade to match the blades and it rarely occurs after running several potatoes through the machine. My granite counter gets great suction when I place the vacuum flat on it. It is rare for a potato to go through straight, causing it to get jacked sideways, causing it to get stuck. Due to the fact that it does not occur frequently, I am glad to admit that it could be a user skill issue. I take it apart to clean and reassemble it but it seems to take a lot more time than I would like. However, it takes a fraction of the time it would take to cut the potatoes by hand.
Sweet potatoes cannot be cut with this machine. It is difficult to remove sweet potatoes from the baking sheet. However, the potato fries are a great size for regular potatoes.
Some of the time, I have some trouble with the suction cup popping off while I am pushing through a potato. When it comes to medium and large potatoes, it can be tough to get through them. In all other respects, it's really good. In addition to the 1/4 in blade, I also purchased a 1/2 in blade. This is a solidly built product and it.
The electric fry cutter I bought from Sopito was missing a blade, so I bought this one. The plastic shavings on the fries are left behind by the set it came with as well as the set that came with it. There is no return policy for Amazon even though it's been much less than 90 days since the purchase. Additionally, I cannot find a phone number for the manufacturer.
There is too much looseness in the cutter when moving parts. It is too difficult for the edges of the cutters to be handled. This is a difficult product In order for the cutter to work, potatoes must first be sliced into quarters. I don't think I would buy it Recommendations not to follow.
Otherwise, it could have gotten a 4 out of 5.
Combined with the fry cutter with a 1/2-inch cutting surface, we purchased these at the same time. It makes potatoes fries even better if it is 3/8 inch in diameter. The sweet potatoes would be too sweet for this recipe I'd have a hard time with that.
