Questions & Answers

Is there a blade that just slices the vegetables? Is there a blade among the five that only slices?

Spiralizer cuts are always long and rounded due to the rotary design. If you want to make shorter ribbons, cut the vegetable lengthwise with a knife, stopping at the center, and spiralize as usual, as directed in the guide. This will result in smaller cuts, such as single cucumber rounds if a cucumber is cut down the length and then spiralized with a flat ribbon blade. Elbows or half moons could be formed with a few cuts like this. I hope this information is useful.

This spiralizer appears to be the same as the Briefton 5 Blade spiralizer. What's the difference between the two? (does this one have a lower price tag)?

While we prefer not to comment on other spiralizer brands out of respect, we are the only spiralizer on Amazon that includes a catch and store container, a cleaning brush, and an iOS recipe app with videos (an Android version will be available in 3 weeks). Furthermore, all of our blades are labeled with the size and purpose, as shown here: (Spaghetti): 3 mm

Is this suitable for making coleslaw with cabbage?

Yes, it works well, but you should cut the cabbage first for convenience.

Is there any BPA in this product?

Yes it is

For my carb and dairy-free meals, I love using a spiralizer
5/5

a diet that is completely free For my carb and dairy-free meals, I love using a spiralizer. a diet that is completely free I make noodles with a variety of vegetables, including zucchini, butternut squash, and sweet potatoes. I previously owned a Sur La Table model that was extremely difficult to clean, so I decided to purchase this one because it was the cheapest larger version I could find. It's incredibly simple to disassemble and clean, which is ideal given how much vegetable matter gets stuck in the blades of these things. br>br>Highly recommend, and based on my experience with this one, I'll be checking out other Mealthy products.

Veggeti, take a backseat
5/5

Veggeti, be on the lookout. The town now has a new spiralizer! I'm totally in love with my new Mealthy SpiraSlicer! The two main issues I had with the Veggeti, blades that weren't sharp enough and suction to counter that wasn't strong enough, aren't an issue with this beauty! A carrot was sliced through like butter by the blades! The suction was also able to withstand my most strenuous efforts! I also admire the fluidity with which the arm moves. So now. Let's talk about the extras for a moment. There are 5 blades, a blade holder, a fantastic storage box that spirals right into it, and a cleaning brush included! Thanks to all of these factors, Mealthy has become my new favorite kitchen gadget!.

Simple to use with a lot of options
5/5

Spiralizing is a breeze with this product; the suction cup base keeps the spiralizer in place for easy use, and the included brush is great for cleaning the blades quickly. The Mealthy app is also fantastic, with plenty of spiralizer-friendly video recipes. I believe the app is currently only available for iOS, but the website serves as a good fallback.

Everything was wrapped in bubble wrap and placed in an undamaged box, so it works really well for the price
4/5

Bubble wrap was double wrapped around the clear plastic container used to store the extra two of the five blades. I noticed a small scratch/crack in the clear plastic blade storage container when I removed everything from the packaging to wash it all before testing it out. It's not a big deal because it doesn't leak even when filled with water, so it's more of an annoyance on the surface. But I'm not sure how it got that way when it was double wrapped in bubble wrap. The rest of the components were simple to disassemble and reassemble, as well as clean. The cleaning brush that comes with it is very cheap and easily broken, but my regular kitchen brush that I use for doing dishes held up well and cleaned it just fine. br>br>The suction works great; you just have to make sure you push down on that area firmly with your hand while flipping the suction switch on and off to get it to stick well; you may need to flip the switch for it back and forth once or twice while holding it down so it can get its grip. It wasn't difficult to do, and it didn't take long to get it to firmly grip the counter. It works better for me if the counter is clean, grease-free, and completely dry. br>br>If you aren't being stupid with how you handle them, the blades aren't that easy to cut yourself on; you just have to remember they're very sharp and be careful where you hold them and how you position your hands when using the device; I wouldn't let the pieces of the device sit there with food remnants on them because once the food dries on it, it'll be very difficult to clean; make sure to rinse and brush it clean right away after using it br>br>When using it, wider vegetables produce better results, so look for the widest ones at the store. Even the zucchini that I used that wasn't quite as wide seemed to work fine. Just keep in mind that the shorter the noodles are, the thinner the vegetable. To demonstrate size scale, I posted a photo of the zucchini I used with my finger on top of it. On the spaghetti setting, one zucchini of that size yielded enough veggie noodles for a full plate of cooked noodles. I'm not sure why people were complaining about the veggie noodles spilling all over the place; I propped up the plastic bin that came with it against the machine in a T shape and it caught all the noodles just fine, with plenty of room to spare, and I didn't have to make any adjustments while making them. br>br>I'd like to add that I'm disabled as well, with a lot of hand pain and pressure sensitivity. When I was doing the zucchini, I barely had to apply any pressure to this device as I slid it towards the blades, and when I turned the crank, it glided like a hot knife through softened butter. I'm sure harder vegetables will require a little more force, but I don't think it'll be too difficult. br>br>If it weren't for the scratch/crack in the clear blade storage container, I'd give this 5 stars. I'm pleased with my purchase overall. Except for the brush, all of the pieces appear to be very durable, and I don't expect them to break anytime soon. It even includes a small recipe book with photos of the food, and the recipes look delicious. I would buy this product again in a heartbeat. I'm thinking about getting one for one of my sisters.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE HANDS-ON VERSION - We had one of the cone ones before, and it had a few minor issues
4/5

I've even told a coworker about it. Instead, tell the employee to go out and buy one of these. This uses a lot more of the vegetable I'm slicing, resulting in less waste, and the actual product feels well made - With the exception of the blades, everything is made of plastic. The blades can be swapped out and cleaned quickly. In the summer, I see myself using this to make a variety of potatoes and other vegetables for parties. br>br>In the morning, I spiralized a potato and then chopped it into smaller pieces using the angel hair setting. We've made "zoodles" several times and it only takes a few seconds to cut up the zucchini. I have two issues: br>br>I have two issues: The first is that the suction cup does not appear to be working - The product, on the other hand, isn't difficult to keep moving and hold down. The second issue is that the cut produce does not really come out the other end as much as it falls where it wants to. There's no simple way to get it into a bowl or container.

I tried it for the first time with a good friend and found it to be sturdy, efficient, quick, easy to clean, and virtually waste-free
5/5

We used the fettuccine blade to cut zucchini and yellow summer squash. Spiralizing each vegetable took less than ten seconds, and the resulting noodles were delicious. We didn't use the recipes because I didn't check them, so we made up our own. We cooked the noodles in a frying pan with 2 tablespoons of butter, garlic, and olive oil over medium heat. ish. When the noodles were almost done, I removed them from the pan and deglazed it with chicken stock before adding freshly grated parmesan and thickening it with a cornstarch and melted butter mixture. I reintroduced the noodles while reducing the sauce slightly. I think this is the best and easiest meal I've ever made, and I'm going to add shrimp for protein next time. I HIGHLY recommend this spiralizer because it is sturdy, easy to clean, efficient (nearly no waste), quick, and makes carb cutting a breeze! I'm going to get a second one for the friend with whom I tried this.

Buy it! This is fantastic! So simple and quick
5/5

It's pretty good. The suction cup is effective! It's almost to the point of being too good ; Cleaning is a breeze. It's more than enough to use only 5 blades. They are easy to put in and take out of the holder, and there is a safety button on them! My only qualm is that I'm worried about something minor. the handle that you use to guide it along the way I'm hoping it doesn't break any time soon. As you spiralize, you will need to push. It's not self-propelled; it's manual. Because I'll be hand-washing it, I don't think it'll become brittle and break, ie: from the washing machine I would strongly suggest it!.
