This appears to be a fairly sturdy and substantial egg slicer from the product listing. There's no doubt about it It was made of a better quality plastic than my last one. Furthermore, it seems the wires will be able to take a lot of abuse. The purchase was definitely a good one.

A few days after use, the wires bent

This device has only been used a few times, so the wires have already not lined up with Hard-boiled eggs are the only thing I have used it for. The slicer is a little bit too wide to be able to fit through the stand to cut the egg, you have to break the stand apart to get it in place. I don't find it to be very convenient or strong.

It is amazing how well this slicer works

Having purchased a slicer in the past, I noticed that on the third boiled egg I tried to slice, the wire had become so loose that it would not I replaced the previous slicer with this one and cut some mushrooms the first time I used it. Even though I wasn't certain I should be tempting fate, with gentle rocking and pressing, I was able to lose 2 pounds. Slicers can continue to operate normally without suffering any damage. After cutting a dozen or so H, I did not feel like cutting any more. I had no problems with my eggs. It's a great cutter. I'm very happy with it.
