Questions & Answers

Is this zester made in the United States?

I'm not sure where it's made because it doesn't have any markings on it besides the name. I believe Zyliss was founded in Switzerland, but their website now appears to be based in the United States. It's probably best to get in touch with the business directly.

Is it possible to make a cocktail "twist" with the "channel knife," orange? I'd like to hear from someone who does it on a regular basis. ?

I'm not too fussy about appearances, and I've been able to make strips with the "channel knife" that could be twisted fairly easily. I love this zester; I've tried a lot of them and this one is the best I've ever used (and I'm in my seventies). I'm very happy with it and would highly recommend it.

What country did the item come from?

GARNISHES A COCKTAIL NICELY AS A "STRIP
5/5

" I've been looking for a good "channel knife" that I can use to make some festive cocktail garnish strips. I've tried other "zesters," but the knives have always been a disappointment; I gave them back to you. I've had good results with this ZYLISS (the new model) on an orange with a thick peel, a lemon with a medium peel, and a lime with a hard peel. I can only hope it stays sharp in the future. br>br>I was hoping for a channel knife that I could "pull" straight back. Others with a side cutter have worked for me in the past, but they aren't as effective. It's difficult enough to cut through citrus skin, but the side channel knife, in my experience, is even more difficult. This ZYLISS design, with its large, comfortable handle (and a large hole for hanging it up), gives me more control over cutting a nice long, thin, uniform garnish that looks great on the glass rim or in the drink. br>br>Should I require it, the zester appears to be in good working order. br>(Thanks also to those who responded to my questions before I purchased it. ) You were right on the money.

DULL! I'm not returning a zester that doesn't zest because the channel knife works and I already have a microplane
3/5

Otherwise, the tool drawer would be cluttered. I figured that replacing my missing zester would result in a sharp result, similar to what happened when I replaced my peeler. Nope. This firm used to produce high-quality goods. This item is not something I would recommend.

Unusable
3/5

Because this is a brand name product, I was expecting a lot, but imagine my disappointment when I opened the package and discovered that the product is practically useless. The five small holes on the top, which I assume are for zesting, are completely useless; there is no sharpness there. The channelbr>cutter went too far and was difficult to control. I'll return this, and I'll use my microplane once more.

This is a fantastic product for making Martinis with lemon or lime twists
5/5

I ordered another one from Amazon, and it was a complete waste of money. This one worked perfectly right out of the box, and it couldn't even begin to make a lemon twist. This book comes highly recommended. But it was only for lemon twists that I used it for. Exceptional quality.

As a zester, it just doesn't work
3/5

Other reviews have stated that this product does not work as a zester at all. I've owned a number of these machines, and they've all produced excellent rind strings - as depicted in the product's images - I spent ten minutes trying to get a half teaspoon of lemon zest out of a lemon the first time I used this one. This isn't a new technology; it was just as effective as using a butter knife. How do you get a product that isn't designed or manufactured to work out there? Very let down.

Zesting Made Simple: I already had an OXO zester, but I never used it because the blade was dull from the start, making zesting citrus fruits difficult if not impossible
5/5

Finally, I decided to look for a better alternative and chose the Zyliss because it appeared to have the best overall reviews. The Zyliss Easy Grip Zester is absolutely fantastic! Because the blade is sharp on both ends, zesting and peeling garnishes is a breeze. The only flaw in this design that I can think of is that it doesn't sit well on flat surfaces. It'll roll off your counter in no time. This issue could be solved by flattening one of the sides, but it's a minor annoyance. This purchase has made me extremely happy:.

Zests
5/5

My old zester had vanished from my kitchen. It never reappeared, no matter how many times I told my family about it. It had to be replaced at some point. This one's large handle should help it stay put. Zesters are simple to use and clean, in my opinion.

It is not as effective as my father's
3/5

I used it at Dad's house because he has something similar. Finally, I had no fear of zesting my had like I had with standard zesters, and I got a bunch of zest with little effort; however, I got this one, which looks exactly the same but only grates a minuscule piece or two of zest at a time, and he has no idea where he got it:.
