I purchased it quite some time ago. I went to use it a few days ago. I threw it out because it wasn't working the way I expected it to. I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you.

It wasn't until this year that I realized there was a term for zesting. We already had a zester/microplane (which I didn't buy), but I wanted to find one that was nicer and of higher quality. I believe Joseph Joseph 2 is a good candidate. When it comes to zesting, one zester will suffice. If you don't already know, "zesting" is the process of removing the outer layer of a citrus fruit's skin; This grated layer can be used to flavor foods and drinks. Who knew? I had no idea until I made Lemon Cakes for my Game of Thrones viewing party (also, I can see why Sansa loves Lemon Cakes). It can be used to zest lemons for Lemon Cakes, oranges for Orange Dreamsicle ice cream, and even garlic for those who prefer not to mince. br>br>In comparison to the zester we already own, this one is superior for three reasons: 1) The long length makes zesting easier because you can do it in one long motion rather than multiple smaller ones. 2) The back wiper will remove any extra skin that has stuck to it that you may have missed without risking cutting your fingers. 3) There's also a handy plastic cover that protects the blade when it's not in use. It takes up no additional space and protects you and your children from the sharp edges. br>br>As always, Joseph Joseph's kitchen housewares are well-designed and functional. This is a useful kitchen tool to have on hand. It is highly recommended.
I wish I hadn't thrown out the packaging because when I finally got around to using it, I discovered that it was completely useless. This thing rips deep into the white pith no matter how carefully or gently I worked it. I end up with a rough, jagged mess. Just a waste of time.
It's simple to use and it does its job well. I bought it as a gift for others because I was so pleased with it. It's not too big, so it'll fit in your gadget drawer or container. I like how the slide pushes all of the zest down and into your recipe; it's also very easy to clean because the slide comes out and back in with ease. For cooks, this is an essential tool.
This zester is one of my favorites. The small tool on the back for transferring food to the bowl was my favorite part. This is the most depressing aspect of the review. I had no idea the wonderful little tool had slipped down the kitchen sink drain until it was too late. Then I ran the disposal, and that lovely, much-loved tool was chewed up pretty badly. Little Tool, may you rest in peace. br>.
So we simply needed a cheap but nice set of kitchen equipment, so we purchased a few of these items. Joseph Joseph was a brand I had never heard of before, but I decided to give it a shot. They were fantastic, and the shipping was much faster than I had anticipated. I received my order in a day.
Although the scraper is very useful, the blades were not as sharp as another zester I purchased on Amazon. I wanted to fall in love with it, but I had to give it back.
I'm not sure how long the "bring down" feature will last, but it's a useful tool nonetheless.
