Questions & Answers

A melon baller with a scoop the size of a teaspoon or slightly smaller is what we're looking for. Is this one up to the task?

1 teaspoon is the largest end. I believe the smaller end is about 1/2 teaspoon in size (I don't have a round 1/2 teaspoon to compare it to, but it's larger than a 1/4 teaspoon).

What's the difference between this and a metal teaspoon measure? Is there some kind of "cutting" edge around the rim?

The one I bought did have a sharp edge, which is necessary for cutting melon balls, but it was thrown out because the stem connecting the scoop to the handle was thin and bent with each scoop, in other words, it was a piece of Chinese garbage. Instead, I recommend that you purchase in-house. If you're looking for a good deal, go to Target or Best Buy and Beyond; Amazon should get rid of this item.

Is there anything smaller than a 110 disher on either of these ends?

The size of one scoop differs from the size of the other. A tablespoon is about the size of the larger scoop. I hope this information is useful.

Is it possible to make bourbon balls using this method? I make my candy by hand, which takes a long time. The candy, on the other hand, is somewhat sticky. ?

It's an intriguing query. I believe it would work fine, but if the bourbon balls became sticky, I would rinse it in water. This is a high-quality kitchen tool, so expect it to perform admirably.

Product of high quality, durability, and comfort! I bought it to make fruit salads and other fun treats for my kids
5/5

Oxo is known for producing high-quality products, and this is no exception. The handle is both ergonomically and structurally sound. The metal scoops are sturdy but thin enough to cut through any fruit with ease, and they will last a lifetime. br>br>This gets a perfect 5 out of 5 from me. Thank you for taking the time to read my review and give it a star rating!.

Even the mango was rolled into a ball
5/5

All of the melons should be balled! I bought this, then went out and bought a bunch of melons, balling them all up. I'm all balled up right now, but it works, it's great, and it's sturdy - It is impossible to make a mistake!.

What took us so long to figure out? Our old melon baller had finally lost one of its scoop heads, so I reluctantly purchased a replacement
5/5

I'm not sure why I waited this long. Not sure. This is so simple and easy to do. It isn't particularly sharp to the touch, but it cores a half apple as easily as a hot knife through butter. Me likey.

Excellent product! Between my husband and me, I thought we had every kitchen gadget imaginable, but we didn't have any of these
5/5

This is a very straightforward design with excellent build quality and ergonomics. It takes a few scoops to get the hang of it, but once you do, you'll be fine. You're already a pro after a 15-second learning curve. I've mostly used it to scoop melons, but I've also seen people use it to scoop cookie batter, muffin batter, and even ice cream. I like that it comes with two sizes of scoops, so you can play around with it on whatever dish you're making. Thank you for making such an excellent product.

When you're allergic to melons, who wants to buy a melon baller? To save space in the kitchen, I follow Alton Brown's advice of using the same piece of equipment for multiple purposes
5/5

Because I'm allergic to melons, I can't use this "melon baller," but I can use it to remove the core from apple and pear halves to make fruit salads look more appealing. It cuts perfectly with little effort; I had previously purchased a similar, less expensive model but returned it because it simply did not work. I've never had an issue with anything from OXO. I should've known better. This product should be purchased. You will not be sorry!.

The tool is extremely easy to use and clean (which I do regularly)
5/5

This was purchased for the purpose of making melon balls for our granddaughter. The tool is very easy to use and clean (I clean it by hand to avoid the soft handle from deteriorating in a dishwasher). The difference in size between the two ends allows you to make different-sized balls, with the smaller volume scoop working better for fruit removal as you get closer to the rind. The tool is sharp, but not as sharp as a knife. You don't have to be concerned about being cut, and it works wonders on melon balls. Some kids prefer melon balls to chunks of melon for some reason, and psychology aside, I'm glad they do.

We had hoped for more
5/5

My wife had one that was extremely old and only had one usable end. We've been together for 29 years, and she was the one who got it first. It's possible it belonged to her mother. In any case, the last piece of the puzzle came loose recently. It was something that my wife used a lot. As a result, I began looking for someone to take his place. Of course, I ended up on Amazon after conducting an online search. This had a lot of good reviews, and I liked that it came in two sizes, one on each end. My wife, on the other hand, is a huge fan. She also likes the fact that it comes in two different sizes. She also claims that it is simple to operate. As a result, we're extremely pleased. It comes highly recommended from me.
