A deep fryer spoon like this is perfect for lifting food from the pan. It's made of one continuous piece of metal, and all the parts are held tightly together by no screws that will break or give way later. It's long enough so that I don't have to worry about oil splattering and burning my hands. As the slots are well spaced, the oil drains smoothly when you lift the food out of the oil and is convenient for washing and cleaning. When I worked in a fast food kitchen, I used slotted spoons like these that had the look, feel and weight of professional restaurant tools. Despite its small size, this spoon makes me very happy.
