Questions & Answers

I'm curious as to where this was made. ?

I'm not sure which country you're talking about. It's flimsy and poorly constructed. It is not something I would spend my money on. I assumed it was a name brand, but it wasn't when I received it. I hope this has been of assistance.

What is the width of the slots?

The slots are about 1/8 inch wide and 1/4 inch deep. Because I'm not very good at fractions, I'm not sure what the measurement in between is. However, I am aware that it is an excellent utensil, particularly for scooping up French fries or other deep-fried foods. You should get one right away.

Cooking isn't the only thing you can do with it
5/5

Don't laugh, but I purchased a number of these. One is for cooking, and the other is for cleaning the litter box of the cat. This product is, without a doubt, the best cat litter box scooper on the market!.

The metal may be stainless steel, but the welding most definitely isn't
3/5

These rust spots appeared while I was cooking with it for the first time, and who knows what metal or chemicals are leaking out of the joint. For that, I deduct two stars. I deducted another star because the scoop's curvature exceeds that of the utensil I purchased it to replace. As a result, removing all of the food from the pan is difficult; It doesn't fit well in the corners or along the bottom of the scoop. It was a huge let down.

made in a poor manner This is exactly the kind of kitchen tool I've been looking for
3/5

I used to have an old one from my mother called a "thingamajig" that I loved and used all the time, and this tool was very similar in style. When I placed my order, I ordered two because I had a feeling it wouldn't hold up. The handle fell off the scoop today as I was breaking up cooked ground turkey. The rivets on the handle barely marked the back of the scoop where it was attached, so it appears to have been glued on. For the past few months, I've used both of them several times per week. Money that could have been better spent. take a look around.

LOVE IT! My mother has an antique version of this "Kitchen-Table" that she uses
5/5

I've wanted one for a long time and thought the only way to get one was to go to an antique store and look for one. I was overjoyed when I discovered one on Amazon! I'm going to buy one for each of my friends' wedding showers. You can use this for a variety of purposes; I use mine to strain hardboiled eggs and to serve homemade soup. I used my ladle in conjunction with my spoon to get all of the goodness! br>This product comes highly recommended.

It works just like my vintage Kitchenmajig, except it broke down after a few months of use
3/5

All of my ratings are based on short-term use and demonstrate that this is a good replacement for the utensil in question. However, the handle is plastic rather than wood, and the weld is visible where it was not on the original Kitchenmajig it replaces. I also have very little data on durability. Let's just say I'm hoping it'll hold up in 20 years. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. This is a product you should not buy!! It's a shoddy product. It has fallen apart after less than a month of normal use, as the handle and strainer parts were soldered together with the least amount of solder possible, making it incapable of being used for long periods of time without coming apart. I can fix it, but it will require resoldering. It's preferable to find one that's riveted together and not made in China for everyday use.

What Would You Do If You Didn't Have This Spoon? I loved my Fry Daddy slotted spoon for years, but it finally gave up the ghost when some of the slots started to break
5/5

It's what I use to get fries, shrimp, and fish out of the pot while they're still cooking. Because of its size, it's easy to scoop out large portions; just a few scoops and all of the fries are gone. I photographed it and uploaded it to Google, where I discovered the Amazon link for this spoon. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it was of good quality and long-lasting construction. Even better, my biggest gripe with the old Fry Daddy spoon was its open-in-the-middle wire handle, which allowed other items in my utensil crock to pass through, resulting in a tangle. This is not the case. In addition, the longer (just the right length) handle is safer and easier to use. Get this bad boy as soon as possible. You'll be baffled as to how you survived without it.

After I fell in love with it, I put it to use
3/5

The first time it was used, it was broken. I couldn't wait to try it out because I'd been looking for a good tool for removing fried foods from hot oil. This appeared to be a good option, and the price was appealing. However, it broke right in my hand during my first use; it appears that the handle was simply glued to the spatula part, and it just fell apart. I'm wondering if the glue couldn't withstand the temperature of the hot oil, but my oil was only on med-high heat. high. br>I'm returning this item and going shopping somewhere else, most likely for a well-made product. With a warranty from a well-known brand.

Slotted Skimmer that has been broken
3/5

The skimmer's form appealed to me. I hand-washed it with warm water and dish soap when I first got it. It was completely dry when I finished. When I was steaming squash, the spoon part fell off the handle on the first dip. I had to extract it from the squash. I tossed it in the garbage. It has disappointed me greatly. It appears that it was not designed to be used. I didn't press down on it or even touch the pan; all I did was stir the squash after it had cooked and become slightly tender.
