✔ 100% UNBLEACHED COTTON -’t have to worry about left over chlorine leaching out of the cheesecloth and into your food or skin when using unbleached chees This is especially important if you're wrapping a newborn in cheesecloth. When you use unbleached cotton, you're getting a superior product made from only the finest natural cotton fibers.
QUALITY AT ITS HIGHEST This means that the fabric will never contain recycled fibers or other impurities. Here in the United States, virgin cotton is grown. Cotton grown in the United States is widely regarded as the best in the world, with exceptional strength and durability. Do we really need to remind you about your first pair of jeans? Yep. Those, too, were grown in the United States of America.
REUSABLE = LONG LIFESPAN - When it comes to our Grade 90 Cheesecloth, one of the things that stands out is its durability and longevity. The cheesecloth is not only durable, but it can also be used again and again. To clean it, all you need is a mild detergent and warm water. Scrub the cheesecloth with your hands until it's clean. We recommend boiling the cheesecloth for up to 15 minutes or until it appears clean if it has picked up small particles.
MANY HOUSEHOLD APPLICATIONS - Our Cheesecloth is one of your home's most versatile tools! It's great for straining stocks and canning, too. It can be used to baste or stuff poultry. It's also useful for soft cheeses that require mesh wrapping. When poaching chicken or fish, keep it as whole as possible. When roasting a turkey or chicken, it's a good idea to wrap it in aluminum foil. Squeeze the juice from a lemon without allowing the seeds to fall into the juice, or wrap spices in it.

Questions & Answers

What are the dimensions of the cloth when it is unpackaged and unfolded?

Given the 45 st. ft., the cloth is folded over on itself to make a 9-inch-wide cloth. for more information

This bag allows microns of what size to pass through. ?

This isn't a bag, to begin with. They're cheese cloth sheets. I measured a mesh material by counting 25 strings per linear inch, which is how I was taught to do it. According to a chart I found online, this equates to 710 microns. I hope this helps.

Is it capable of enduring high temperatures? Is it possible to use it as a liner in the pressure cooker when making rice cakes?

I haven't put it in an extremely hot environment. I've been using it to drain Greek yogurt, even though I've hand-washed it in almost boiling water and reused it several times. It's held up admirably in the face of such adversity.

Is this something that could be used as a Halloween costume?

Unless it's doubled, see through. Are you dressing up as a Mummy?

a big This is perfect for Halloween
5/5

I used a lot of cheesecloth to make a huge reaper ghost. I searched high and low for something dense (fine tight weave) and as large as possible. I would have spent a fortune on smaller, looser cheesecloth, which would have required multiple layers to achieve the desired effect. This cheesecloth's material is excellent, and you can fray and tatter it like cotton for a distressed look, whereas other cheesecloth gathers and bunches. I didn't have to dye the cheesecloth because it was naturally colored. This product and the results have exceeded my expectations.

Compared to store-bought brands, this is far superior
5/5

To make my famous herb butter, I usually purchase small batches of bleached cheesecloth from the supermarket. I decided to go with Pure Acre Farm's cheese cloth this time and ordered it in bulk. It's unbleached, flexible, and soft. As I poured the butter over it to remove the herbs, it was easier to manipulate and secure over the bowl. I paid about half of what I would have paid in the store, so it's both cost-effective and high-quality. Win, Win, Win. It's exactly how I want it to be.

If you're going to use it for food, make sure you wash it first! This cheesecloth didn't make an impression on me
3/5

I found the package to be wrinkled and difficult to work with when I first opened it. I bought it to use to drain my homemade yogurt, and I spent at least 20 minutes wrestling with it, trying to fold it into layers the size I needed to fit my strainer (and I sew and work with fabric all the time). I eventually gave up and cut it down to size. If you decide to buy this and plan to use it for food, you must first wash it, as it appears to have sizing in it, which manufacturers add to fabrics to prepare them for sale. It has a structure similar to that of starch. I began by hand-washing it with a mild dish detergent and thoroughly rinsing it. I've discovered that holding the cheesecloth taut and letting the water run straight through ensures that all of the soap is rinsed out. After that, I rinsed it thoroughly with water and white vinegar. To ensure that the next batch of yogurt is not contaminated, I like to do this every time I finish making it. br>br>Once that was done (which took a long time and a lot of effort), I discovered that some of the layers I had cut were significantly shorter than others. I made it work, and my yogurt was finished, but I'm about to order Organic Wizard's cheesecloth. Of course, using organic is much better for use with food, and it's Grade 90, which has a much finer weave than this (thus requiring fewer layers). It's also very similar in price, perhaps a little more expensive, but it's also available through Subscribe and Save, which saves money. I'm not sure how it'll hold up, but it won't have any sizing added because it's organic. I'm pretty sure that's what got me into the wrestling match in the first place; br>br>From the other reviews I've read, it appears that many people have had success with it, particularly with crafting projects. That's great, but for my own peace of mind, I'm switching to the other brand; if you decide to buy this cheesecloth for food purposes and don't want to go through the ordeal I did, do as I did. I'd recommend washing it before attempting any cuts to make things easier on yourself; however, because I hand washed mine, I can't speak to how well it will hold up in the washer. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my thoughts. Wishing you the best of luck with your endeavor.

This is a great way to dry herbs
5/5

My kitchen looks great with unbleached cheesecloth. Because I'm all about'making it pretty,' this was the perfect solution for drying my bits of herbs after pruning my indoor plants (see photo). I make cheese as well, but not with this cheesecloth (odd but true). A butter muslin is best for cheese because it has a finer mesh, but the looser mesh of this product provides excellent airflow for drying herbs and other purposes, and the 45 sq ft will last me for years. br>***UPDATE*** It's only been three months, and I'm already planning to buy another one of these. I've discovered a slew of new applications. A large square of it was used to support a large pumpkin growing down through an overhead arch in my garden, and another large square was used to make a garlic bag for my harvested garlic. I simply tied a decorative bow around it, cut a small slit in the back to access the garlic, and hung it on my pantry door with a 3M Hook.

Never again will I buy cheesecloth from the grocery store
5/5

The quality of this cheesecloth is incredible. Why? Isn't cheesecloth, after all, just cheesecloth? That's exactly what I was thinking. Then I became frustrated because my most recent cheesecloth purchase from the grocery store didn't quite fit my strainer when straining yogurt, so I turned to Amazon. br>br>First and foremost - This cheesecloth isn't bleached, which I really like. For me, it's just a nice little bonus. br>Then there's the second. I can cut the perfect sized piece out of the cheesecloth because it is nice and wide. br>Third-place finisher - Because the mesh on this cheesecloth is FINE, one layer is all that is required. In the strainer, there will be no more doubling up. Granted, this has a disadvantage in that it causes my yogurt to strain much more slowly, but if you want a really fine weave, this is ideal. br>Fourth - When I unfolded the cheesecloth from the grocery store, the whey soaked into the corners and dripped all over my counter. This doesn't seem to absorb as much moisture as the other cloths, and the corners of the cloth remained dry. br>br>I haven't yet tested the washability and reusability of this, but based on the quality, it appears that it should last at least a few uses. As a result, it will most likely take me some time to get through the entire package, but once I do, I'll know exactly what I'm reordering.

I finally got tired of running to the store last minute for cheesecloth only to pay $5 for a tiny package of cloth that I then had to layer at least three or four times to strain anything finer than my mesh strainer
5/5

This stuff is really nice, and it comes in a resealable container with a decent amount of kitchen twine. I only used two layers to make ricotta, and it's sturdy enough that I washed it with a little dish soap (WELL rinsed) and it's ready to use again for my next batch of cheese. I'm very happy with the quality of the product and the service.

It was exactly as described
5/5

This product falls somewhere between cheesecloth and muslin in terms of quality. Straining yogurts, sour cream, mascarpone, and other viscous curds is a breeze with this strainer.
