I had trouble getting the battery compartment open when I first got it, which was before my surgery, so I could put my batteries in it (it didn't come with batteries). It's a LOT of work to get this thing open! I used it once and it worked fine; however, when I needed to use the can opener after my surgery, I asked my sister, who was staying with me, to change the batteries because the can opener was broken. She was completely unable to open the compartment! She brought it to work and had a coworker attempt to open it, but HE struggled. This can opener will open cans, but changing the batteries is more difficult than opening cans manually. If you're not a super-strong person, don't buy this.

To begin with, this is supposed to be simple to use, but getting to the battery containment area requires almost a vice grip to pinch enough to unlatch the slide off section. Once the batteries were installed, I had to press the button just right for it to work (which isn't a big deal). Once the can opener got going, it would stop short of completely cutting the top off on several occasions (on a variety of can sizes I tried). I'd have to either pry the lid off the rest of the way, resulting in a jagged edge, or try to get the can opener to start just before the non-removable part. Wait for it to cut another portion and then wait for it to stop. Cleaning was also difficult because the blade recedes into such a small enclosed area that the cut label gets trapped inside and you can't really rinse it out or get in there with your fingers without risking cutting yourself. Despite the fact that I adore the fact that this is supposed to leave a nice, non-sticky surface, sharp edge, I believe this can opener is only marginally better than a manual can opener that can do the same job.

It was a huge let down. This is the second time I've gotten one. The battery compartment on the first one wouldn't open, so I had to return it. I was quickly given a replacement. The second one's battery compartment opened fine, and the opener worked for about a month before slowing down. I attempted to replace the batteries but was unable to do so because the compartment would not open. It's a real drag.

After one use, I tossed it in the trash. After a failed attempt to open one can, this method was abandoned. It was a waste of money.

Purchased on June 5, 2020, and passed away on October 15, 2020. It would almost but not quite cut all the way around, leaving a hanging lid with a sharp pointy piece of metal when pulled off. It finally wouldn't let go of the can and had to be pryed free; it hasn't worked since.

First, get the can going, then pause, grind, stay, press the button, and go. pause, grind, metal shavings all over, grind, pulled off, missing teeth OMG. The can opener was returned and replaced with a regular stand can opener that removes the lid cleanly. dont buy. a financial blunder.

This is a replacement for a can opener that had been in use for at least ten years. I'm expecting the same thing from this one. The new one is a little smaller, which I prefer because it fits better in the drawer. The black color appeals to me as well because it appears to be more professional. So far (as of 7/2020), there have been no issues.

I used to own a similar opener from the same company, but it broke down after a few years. I was confident that the "restaurant model" would be even more successful. It's been mine since June 2020. It worked a few times (not very well, but it did open a few cans). It is no longer the case. It gets stuck, won't start, and won't let go of the can. It's a $40 piece. 00 junk!.
