You can find it somewhere on this planet made of bamboo. It is not apparent from the image or in the description which country this muddler is from.
Which kind of safety do we mean? It didn't look like filler to me. Cleaning, oiling, and using is what I have done. I think you're on the right track.
If I was making baby food, I would use it without a problem. Similarly, I sanitize my wooden utensils and equipment after each use (recommended by a professional chef) using freshly cut lemon, lemon skin, or lemon peel.

The day and night passed with me muddled until there was nothing left to muddle. This was a fun muddler for me. Invest in a muddling paddle and start muddling The product appears to be working well. It costs very little and does what it should.
The muddler is nice. It was an excellent choice to have the wood left unfinished. If used, lacquer will certainly lose its surface finish and become part of food or drink. Food was rubbed on this a few times and it looked much better Much like cutting boards and wooden knife handles, I oil them with mineral oil to protect them. The wood grains were brought out nicely by this, and it will tend to resist stains. This should last a long time if it's treated gently (don't soak it in water, don't put it in the dishwasher).
No imperfections can be seen, it is smooth. In my experience, it does benefit from being oiled before the first use. This jar will probably be too small for you if you make kraut by the gallon. The lid fits perfectly on quart jars that I use it on.

The price is low and the quality is good. Getting the nice wood would be a good idea. Although I got light wood, I think that other types would look nicer and they could even be left on a bar table if I were to need them.
There is functionality on both ends of the bamboo stick, and the dense and solid feel is enticing.
