Everything about it suits me to the tee. The material is easy to handle, the finish is smooth, and the whole thing is straightforward to clean. While the area is narrow, the strength does not suffer, and I anticipate that it will serve a variety of purposes beyond just what it was designed.
Using this bar tool will provide you with a well-designed tool that will satisfy the purpose of its main function and look good. Plus, after preparing your cocktail, you won't be too worn-out to enjoy it. When using the BUILT NY bamboo muddler, I hold the flat end of the stick and use the rounded end to hit the bottom of the glass. There is an engraved logo on the rounded end of the wooden tool used to squish sugar and herbs together - it baffles me why it is there. As a result, I would have added it to the flat end instead. It is definitely better than the bar tool in my home it replaces, and there are a few reasons why. Besides the more length, the texture in the hand, and the way it muddles, bamboo is one of my favourite materials. For my bamboo kitchen products, I continue to hand-wash, rinse with water, and then dry. Then, I place them in a place where I know I can retrieve them in the future.
Why did I not have one of these for all of my life? Perhaps it's because I don't do cocktails often enough. It's brilliant to have such a kitchen tool. It is very common to find YouTube videos explaining how to use the muddler. For example, lemons and limes, as well as herbs like peppermint leaves, can be crushed gently with the flat end of this tool before being added to the drink you're making. My view of this muddler is that it is larger than others in videos I have watched. Ten inches long and shaped like a miniature baseball bat, it is quite a large item. Typically the flat end of the spoon is used for crushing, while the rounded end is used for Laminated bamboo forms the structure of this device. It is my favorite material to cook with, and I have a few other bamboo kitchen utensils. The Built NY Muddler is a great product. I have a few bamboo patches in my backyard.
The muddler is very simple and very nice. It is made of bamboo and long enough to hold in a pint glass while being comfortable in the hand. If the cleaning instructions claim to use mild detergent and dry the bamboo immediately, it is most likely not laminated (which is good), although the packaging does not indicate or clarify whether the bamboo is laminated (just that it is "water resistant"). Mint leaves are well crushed by the flat if you're crushing sugar or mint leaves for Mojitos.
This bamboo muddler has made my life so much easier. The cloth's easy to clean, and I haven't had any problems with it I use it as a cocktail strainer since it's the right size. I like how comfortable it is to use and it looks nice. All in all, nothing to complain about!.
My favorite recipe was creating Old Fashioned Cocktails, however, after the second use I noticed it was lacking shine, so I put some Olive Oil on it and washed it, somehow this fixed it. Since then it's the best muddled drink I've ever made. The best part is that it's No worries about changing the taste of your drinks!.
This muddler is now quite satisfactory to me, but it did require some work and effort on my part to get it fully functional. a price of over $21 for what is essentially a bamboo stick (as I type this), I would have expected this muddler to have better quality from the beginning. I used it twice and immediately followed up by hand wash and drying, but I discovered a raised seam/crack that, even after the first use, stretched over half the length of one side. The finish also started looking all worn and dried out from using it just two times. After two uses, it was very noticeable and bothersome to feel that seam that was at least partially there when it arrived and I just hadn't noticed it. There is a muddler that appears to be made from strips of bamboo that are (I am assuming) adhered together and then cut into This results in an opportunity for seams/cracks to form wherever the strips meet. As it turned out, I was able to smooth my out after about five to ten minutes of sanding by hand with some fine sandpaper. However, I do not believe that anyone should be required to hand sand a glass for a certain length of time After a couple of uses, a $20 bamboo stick is worth its price. After two short uses followed by hand washing, I was surprised by the finish, which looked so worn out and dried after a couple of brief uses. This thing had to be wet for about a minute before it was dried off, particularly around the handle where it looked the worst. After applying a couple of coats of water, though, it looked much better.
In my opinion, it's one of those tools I don't use often, but when I need it, it's great to have. It helps me muzzle fruit for an old fashioned in no time at all. Despite not being too heavy, the weight of the product does not make it difficult to handle, nor is it so light that you really have to press in order to get the fruit or mint to squish. Because of the wash routine, the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because you'll have to hand wash and immediately dry it. Even if I left it out in between cocktails without a towel available to dry it off, I wouldn't want to do so.
