I'll have to work on some defects in the bannetone, such as splintering on both (which I can fix) and an unfastened final edge at the top of one, which I won't be able to fix. It happened when the rattan was forming. It will have no effect on the rising, but it may be difficult to manage. I'm keeping the bowls because I love their size. It was difficult for me to correct the poor craftsmanship—the joins were sloppy, and there were numerous flaws. I'm going to use the bannetone if I can smooth it out a little more, but I can't fix the joins. I'll sand where I can and plane as much as I can with a utility knife.
These are long-lasting and durable. lasting. When I'm not cooking with them, I keep them in my cast iron dutch oven. br>br>Proves that loaves are in perfect shape. It fits easily into the fridge or a warm oven to slow down or speed up proofing time, and the spiral patterning gives loaves an authentic look. Before you use the baskets for the first time, lightly mist them with water and dust them with flour. I find this speeds up the seasoning process.
I didn't want something as big as a standard 9"- Because the dough has a tendency to spread, 10" rounds are recommended. Because my loaves tend to hold their shape and rise higher, this set of 7" rounds is ideal. My only criticism is that the quality isn't great - they're perfect for a medium-sized pouf. There are a lot of splinters inside, and the liner on mine is a tight fit, but aside from that, it's a great set for making loaves! I strongly advise you to experiment with dough!.
(They're too small for yeasted loaves for me, but I only make those on rare occasions. ) ) I also liked that they didn't come with a lot of unnecessary extras (plastic bowl scrapers, for example). br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. One had a crack in the top layer of the basket weaving when it arrived. I didn't think it was a big deal at first, but after a few uses, it has expanded to the top two layers and continues to grow in size. That one will most likely be discarded soon. The towel liners are also not my favorite. It's a nice idea, but the baskets are too small to imprint the basket pattern on the bread. I tried proofing a loaf without a liner, but it stuck to the basket and turned out to be a misshapen mess (this could be a personal issue). As a result, I've decided to stick with regular towels.
The item I received was only 9" x 4" in size. 5". It's a fraction of the size stated in the description. That may pique your interest, but you should be aware that the sizing is incorrect. It stood only three inches tall. For 700g of dough to rise, the space is simply too small. The linen is a low-cost material. Aside from that, it's a usable non-violent solution. For a very small loaf, a professional banneton is required.
a very small amount The baskets appeared to be of good quality, but due to their small size, we had to return them right away. In reality, the bottom of the inch basket is only about 3 inches. We expected them to be dome-shaped, but the basket's arch was much smaller than we expected. These are ideal for buns, but not for bread loaves.
It'll be ideal for making rolls for me. It's the perfect size for shaping dough and cutting it into pieces for sourdough rolls. All of them are a good size for a small baguette. Each baguette makes six rolls that fit perfectly in the dutch oven's bottom.
It works well with my sourdough recipe, resulting in two loaves rather than one. When I'm done with it, I wash the lining. So, yes, it is simple to clean.
