The knob is only used to rest the lighter on the table. There is no such thing as "safety" in this situation. The trigger is locked in the on position by a button on the side of the handle.

Greetings, client! It was made in China, but will be shipped from the United States, and you will receive it shortly after placing your order.
Yes, we followed the instructions to the letter, and it only locks on. If you click the trigger once more, the lock will be released. It was not well demonstrated in the instructions. Despite the fact that I haven't bought anything in a long time. It performs admirably. Inside it, I'm using 14x refined vector butane.

Before attempting to refill the torch, drain it according to the instructions. I'm writing because I read several reviews claiming that the torch stopped working soon after purchase. Please continue to read. br>br>When I first got this torch, I filled it with gasoline and gave it to my wife, who used it to make creme brulee. When I returned to the kitchen, she informed me that it had run dry, so I attempted to refill it. Butane started spraying out of the fill valve as soon as I did that, indicating that it was already full. br>br>After that, I actually picked up the instructions and read them (imagine that!). Before refilling, the instructions state that the drain tool provided should be used. I did, and a large amount of gas was released. It could take up to 30 seconds for the water to completely drain! However, it worked perfectly after I refilled it. br>br>I am very pleased with my purchase so far (we've only had it for 24 hours).
Ok - So, creme brulee is one of my favorite desserts. I always look for it on the dessert menu when I go out, so I was very excited to get this torch and try making it at home. I've seen a couple of recipes that say to broil it at the end to melt the sugar on top, but almost all of the "professional" ones recommend using a torch to prevent the sugar from burning too much. As you can see in the before and after photos, using the torch is the most effective way to caramelize the sugar without burning it. br>br>It was extremely simple to use this torch. All you have to do now is fill it with butane and you're ready to go! The only way I could improve this would be to have some sort of indicator or window to see when the torch is full when filling it with butane; the lock feature was nice once I got the hang of giving each dish the proper amount of fire; the only way I could improve on this would be to have some sort of indicator or window to see when the torch is full when filling it with butane; the only way I could improve on this would be to have some sort of indicator or window to see when the torch is full when br>br>The creme brulee turned out fantastically - If anyone wants the website for the recipe I used, please let me know!.
I've recently begun making epoxied items, and this method works wonders for removing small air bubbles. br>br>In comparison to my heat gun, the torch does not add any small particles; it simply does what I want it to do: remove micro air bubbles quickly. I'm glad it's lightweight; the only thing I can compare it to is my heat gun, and this torch is significantly lighter. I don't intend to use cooking exclusively for my hobbies. So far, I'm really enjoying it. br>Easy to fuel; however, fuel is not included; I purchased a bottle locally. br>It has a nice appearance and a solid feel to it. br>The proportions are ideal. It's easy to store this little guy because you just leave it standing. There are no cords to deal with, and you don't have to worry about making sure it's in a particle-free environment. [I know it appears haphazard, but there's a small peanut butter jar there for comparison purposes. ] ]br>There is a lock button on the side [near the nozzle], which is a nice feature to have because it eliminates the need to concentrate on holding down the nozzle to turn on the torch. br>There is a knob on the back side of the torch that I believe is just for aesthetics and serves no purpose, or I haven't figured it out yet. br>br>Get it if you're going to work with epoxy. Please do not be hesitant.
I used to get them from Harbor Freight, but they weren't holding up very well (I use them in my jewelry workshops), so I went online to see if I could find better ones for a reasonable price. br>This torch is fantastic. I like how it can be operated with one hand and how colorful it is. It's what I refer to as my Ferrari torch! It does not include fuel because hazardous shipping costs would be incurred. It is preferable to obtain your own, which is relatively simple to do. This torch is used for very small metalsmithing tasks such as balling wire, fusing wire rings for chain making, wirework, and small rings. You could probably accomplish a little more if you used two. As my other crappy torches burn out, I'll gladly purchase more if the price remains reasonable.
For about 3 weeks, it was a great torch until it started spitting flames up to about 2 feet long because I believe the pressure valve or the tip where it focuses the flame isn't working. I'm disappointed because I liked this torch and had hoped it would last.
If you value your life, DO NOT BUY!! It's a lovely device, and it's presented in a lovely package. Overall appearance of high quality.
2. For about a month of intermittent use, it worked perfectly.
3. There was a time when the sun didn't shine. Butane spewed out of the butane canister, so it was refilled.
4. The trigger has been pulled.
5. It's possible that the light will come on once every hundred or so clicks. Normally, this isn't going to happen right now.
6. If it does light, the flame is uneven and does not go out when the trigger is pulled back. br>7. Fuel is leaking from it now. This device is terrifying! It could be a bomb! Beautiful on the outside, substituted Chinese Junk on the inside. I bought because of the 74% Five Stars. I should have read all of the other reviews first, as they confirm my concerns. It's a shambles and a death trap in the making. br>br>On a weekly basis, I order from Amazon. This is only the second time I've had the impression that the seller is a con artist selling a product that should be withdrawn from the market!.
My Vector torch had begun to underperform after six years, and it was time to replace it. I really wanted another Vector, but they're all around $50. That's understandable, given the length of my previous one. It was also entirely made of metal and was quite durable. I didn't want to spend too much money because I only use my torch for dabbing and occasionally in the kitchen. This torch has a high rating on Amazon, and it has performed as expected so far. It's mostly plastic, except for the base and the actual flame piece, so I'm not sure how long it'll last. But for $15, I'd be willing to replace it because it's a great deal.
I have small hands, so being able to lock it without having to use both hands was very convenient.
