I am the perfect match for my concept's color scheme. I've already washed it three times on high, and the threading and buttons are still in good shape.
In my home kitchen, I prefer to wear a chef coat rather than an apron. I needed a short-sleeved coat for the summer, so I ordered this item because of the low price and good reviews. Because I wear it over my regular clothes, which are usually a tee or polo, I appreciate the lightweight fabric. I ordered one size up, based on the size chart provided by the seller and the fact that I'd be wearing it as a top layer. The coat isn't too tight for my petite frame, but I had hoped for a slightly looser fit. I believe that most women will need at least one size larger, and that most men will need at least two sizes larger. The fabric care instructions are not included in the seller's online product description. When I looked at the care label, I was surprised to see symbols indicating that the item should be dry cleaned or hand washed warm, with no tumble dryer. I gambled and machine-washed the coat in cold water before hanging it to dry. It went through the washer without a hitch and dries quickly without the need for ironing. If you choose your size generously and don't get too worked up about the care instructions, I believe you'll find this garment to be a great bargain.
The price was excellent, and the fabric is light, which I prefer when working in a hot kitchen. Several people said the size was too small, and I believe the fitment chart suggested an XXL if you usually wear an XL. br>I'm 5'10" and weigh around 200 pounds, and I was swimming in this shirt; I'll order more of these shirts, but I think I'll stick to the XL size instead. The price is unbeatable, but shipping takes a long time, so don't expect your items right away.
The accent yellow and black piping on this chef coat made it feel fancier than my standard white coats, and the yellow is actually more of a gold, which was a pleasant surprise. With an apron over it, the shoulders are more squared off, giving it a nice clean look, and who doesn't want some nice broad looking shoulders at work? It's a lighter, more breathable fabric that's still crisp and non-stretchy. see-through. I wore it frequently and received numerous compliments on the fit and accents from my coworkers, so I am glad I purchased it. br>Now for my problems: after several washes, the piping has begun to fray, and the stitching under one of the arm pits has come undone in one spot, leaving a minor frayed hole. I like to think I take good care of my chef coats, but they are a uniform for a demanding work environment with a lot of heat, sweat, and movement, so I believe the wear I was seeing was premature. That said, I still like it and want to wear it, so I'll probably wear it more than I normally would, indicating that the design and fit are good.
I can't work the station because the restaurant that provides me with chef coats is too heavy. I haven't worn it to work yet, but the fabric is much thinner, and the sleeves are short. To test it out, I placed my thermometer and pens in the shoulder pockets; however, due to the lighter fabric, it was difficult to place the thermometer. The button column is different from what I'm used to, to the point where I can't switch to the other side if one side becomes too dirty. I'm considering looking for something else that better fits my personality.
So, it's a little smaller than you'd expect; I'm 6'0" and weigh 167 pounds, and I ordered a Small, which fits me perfectly. Perhaps you'd prefer something looser in the kitchen, but it appears to be perfect in my opinion. The quality is good; however, there is no breathable fabric, so we'll see how it holds up in hotter climates.
br>br>If I had the option, I would give this review zero stars. I ordered these coats in the hopes that they would fit, but I was mistaken. The size chart they provided did not fit me properly, and the material is a little flimsy. I had requested a return, which was granted, but when I returned, they informed me that they would not refund my money because they were filthy. I didn't wear them to work or get them stained or anything; all I did was try them on. br>br> I strongly advise you to seek out a higher-quality chef coat, as these are more likely to tear on you, and if they do not work for you, they will refuse to refund you and will find any excuse not to. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> They still haven't given me a refund for all of my shirts. They stated that one had been refunded and the other two had been mailed back. I still haven't received my refund or the two shirts that were mailed back after more than a month.
I wear a size 2x and ordered a 3x and couldn't even get it on my shoulders. I had my wife try it on and it fit her like it was made for her, and she wears a size large. It goes without saying that you should be aware of the small size of these cuts.
