Exactly what I needed for underneath my cabinets. I put it on the counter top in a vertical position. As a result, it freed up a lot of space from having so many bottles lying around. We were very pleased with the results of these racks. With the 3 racks I purchased, I can easily accommodate 24 bottles on my small sideboard which has only 11 inches of space on the bottom shelf. there is no need for floor space or counter space! The winner takes it all! Based on some reviews, it appears that the bottom bottles lay flat against the shelf or counter. . . that is indeed The problem is that the 2nd and top levels would allow the bottles to tilt forward, whereas I was worried about keeping the corks moist without the tilt. These are a nice, solid product, but the pricing is a bit steep for them. There were supposed to be 6 bottles per rack, but those were increased by two on top for a total of 8 bottles per.

The vertical storage of wine bottles is not safe due to its flimsiness. Having ordered this recently, I had it shipped overnight so I could offer it to a friend that already has bottles of wine in it. I was surprised when I opened the box to find that the wine rack is not only light, but also fragile! I will not be buying this item again to hold my bottles of wine.
