As for rice or oatmeal, I'm not sure, but when it comes to flour (all purpose, bread, biscuit mix (the white bag with black lettering that simply says, 'Biscuit Mix'), store it in the freezer as soon as you purchase it. Place it in the freezer for 24 hours Within 48 hours. There are many flour companies that recommend this type of flour & If you wait 48hrs you should be able to add it to sealed containers without any problems.

By staying near the sink I avoided being sprayed with water by the lid by the hinges. You can see a slow flow of water from the hinge when you hold it upside-down. The same thing happened with all 3 of the items I purchased.
My pantry is full of pasta that I loaded into the can. There doesn't seem to be much activity in my pantry, so it was probably defective. There is a lot of silence A drawer that can easily be opened and closed, with everything at hand. My disappointment is great! This product lasted only a few months for the amount of money I paid. There is no point in returning. The thought of writing sooner should have crossed my mind.
There was nothing I liked more than It didn't seem as airtight as the packaging implied, but I found some pantry moths had made a nest inside. They got passed the gasket somehow, so it wasn't as airtight as said (for me, Maybe there was some pasta sticking up that made the seal difficult to Yes, of course. However, I will exercise caution if I use it again. To my mind, the glass jars that seem to use a tight seal/grip mechanism seem like a good option. How did I come to love this container so much? Although I found the 'portion size' feature useful, I did not find it effective. When pasta was being poured out, it would get bunch up. I didn't think that was a big deal You can use this container without being concerned about pests if you don't mind a few bugs! It would be great if you were. I hope you have better luck than I did. Nevertheless, I thought I would share this with you.
When I tried the "hole" style spaghetti measuring devices, they are a total mess to handle. Why is there not a single video demonstrating how to use one of these devices using a box of pasta as a starting point? I have tested this unit and it works perfectly 1) Grab the opening with your hand and tilt it downward. 2) fill up the opening with spaghetti by shacking it gently. Take a handful of spaghetti and set it aside
3) tilt the pan back up
4) tear off the desired amount. Using this device is very simple, there are no spills, and it is easy to operate. This is a highly recommended book.
I was tempted to try this product when I saw it on the Internet. This was what I needed to hold my brown rice and I bought it off of Amazon. Although I admit it does the job as described, it does live up to my expectations. Food is kept fresh and airtight with this container. I also like how it looks on the countertop of my kitchen. On another Amazon page from a different brand, they sell it in a set at a cheaper price per item than what they do individually.
I've already bought two and I should be able to buy another three or four. You get so many different types of rice to choose from and it comes with a measuring cup and simple cooking instructions.
While we like the progressive containers we have, we experienced a problem with the grain one after about a month. The crack was never pushed by anything on top of it, so there was no additional weight to force it. It is quite disappointing.
There are a number of these that I own and really like. The shoes I bought here are not my own. The only one I bought was on Amazon, and I feel they are asking for I didn't want large containers, but they fit nicely in a cabinet, so they are just what I needed. I do not use my sterilize setting on the dishwasher, but they can go in the dishwasher. As well as locking securely, they have a gasket that keeps air from getting in. I didn't test them for leaks, but I have read that they are not airtight. Those items are perfect for my needs which includes the sets that do not include this piece, which I like.
