Yes, 5 lbs of almond flour worked out perfectly.
Call oxo. The same cover is required for me. br> I waited for a half-hour on hold. I finally left a message, but I never received a response. It had been nearly two weeks since that happened. br>I was extremely dissatisfied.
Only six quarts can be stored in the container. A quart weighs 2 pounds because it contains two pints. So 12 pounds of rice? I wouldn't put that much rice in a container like that because rice is heavy, and instead recommend using a food storage container with wheels.
I bought more than ten of them, only to discover that number 7 was the one! br>Smh, I got rid of them.

I'm a big fan of Oxo containers and have already purchased a few different models. This is my first time using the newly redesigned lid, and I absolutely despise it! When you grab the container by the lid, the lid slips off without you even picking it up, it is NOT airtight. When you press on the push button, it makes a strange loud click out of place sound, and the rubber part that is supposed to expand to seal the lid to the container barely expands at all; i literally had to take the lid and put the rubber part against my finger to verify it did expand, but it only does so about the thickness of a fingernail, nowhere near enough to seal the lid to the container completely. If you want the good Oxo containers, stick with the awesome'steel lid' pop containers (assuming they haven't been remade to same under-structure). br>br>if you want the good Oxo containers, stick with the awesome'steel lid' pop containers (assuming they haven't been remade to same under-structure). br>br>if you want the better Oxo containers, stick with the awesome'steel lid' pop containers ( Those are truly air-tight lids (as opposed to this one, which I don't believe seals because I just bought one about 4 weeks ago). I can pick them up by the lid and they will not come off; I can even try to pull them off when they are sealed and they will not come off. They're somewhere between $4 and $6. I believe it costs $5 more per container than these new versions here, but the extra cost is well worth it!.
These new ones are a complete disaster. I can actually lift the lid off when I press down to seal it. There is no seal. They're all alike in this regard. You couldn't do this with the old design I had for pet food because it was too tight. I'm so dissatisfied, especially because these are such high-priced items.
The new thin lid design does not seal as well as the curved lid design did previously. The sealing mechanism isn't completely seated against the container's side. I'm going to return it and get the 4 QT version instead. This container/lid combination is definitely not one I would recommend.
I'm not one to write negative reviews, but I have a large quantity of oxo pops that I purchased about a year ago, and this is a new design that simply does not work. I'm not sure why anyone would use these now that the seal no longer works. For comparison, here are some old vs. new photos.
The container and lid are shown in the photos and description, but be aware that the lid is not included.
One was broken, and the other was missing its lid. Amazon is fantastic; they've taken the place of both. The issue is that all four of the original containers I received are completely devoid of suction. One of the two Amazon replaced has incredible suction. These containers aren't inexpensive. I now have three with no suction and one that is fantastic. So, I guess this product is either a hit or a miss.
The lid was not included when the package arrived. As a result, I now own an expensive plastic tub that will not keep dry goods fresh. I requested a replacement lid from Oxo and am awaiting their response. I don't want to pay for returning an item that is missing pieces or deal with the post office.
It's difficult to keep the space airtight without the lid. You'll have a hard time reaching customer service. This is something I will never buy again.
