It's a nice product with a good price and a good grip. Cleaning is a breeze. The pour spout is nice, and the seal is secure, but despite the reviews, this did not hold 18 oz (family size box) of most cereals for me. It can hold 17 cups of liquid UP TO THE BRIM, but not 17 cups of cereal. br>br>I discovered a set of two extra large ones, which I'm more excited about. However, I'm thinking of keeping these for my "regular" cereal boxes. br>br>Also, while these look nice grouped together, they don't save any space. For comparison, I took a picture of the containers next to each other in my pantry, as well as the four cereals in their original boxes.
limited in terms of functionality These are of excellent quality and include cute little labels as well as a paint pen to write on them. I really like the snap lids. They're also the worst cereal containers I've ever encountered. The hole for pouring cereal is in the middle of the flip lid, resulting in a large lip that cereal cannot easily pass through to exit the container. The circular black rubber sealing ring at the pour-in spout is also worth mentioning. The outlet stands proudly above the plastic that surrounds it. This means you'll have to pick cereal out with your fingers if it gets stuck there during the messy, difficult pouring process. It's not going to shake or slide back into the main cereal reservoir on its own. I don't like it when people treat others badly. This is an example of well-designed goods.
I've owned a number of Snapware products, and these are comparable in quality for a much lower price; the only minor complaint I have is that some cereals don't pour easily through the spout. However, I can't think of a better way to make them that would solve this problem, so I've been able to get around it by shaking the container up and down over the cereal bowl, being careful not to fling the cereal all over the place. The kids cereal with little cinnamon toasts is the most difficult to pour of all the cereals I've tried. They are flat and, as a result of the, can stick to each other. More spherical cereals flow easily, but less "flakey" cereals do not. It's an excellent biology demonstration of how our squishy little blood platelets form a clot to stop bleeding.
I'm really impressed by the size of these containers. It's also a great deal for four of them. They're also incredibly simple to keep clean. Except for square cereals such as Cinnamon Toast Crunch, they pour cereal perfectly. To pour, you must tip it back and forth, but I don't mind. It comes with little chalkboard labels and a marker, which I really like. I've been able to use the two sheets of eight labels that came with it for other containers around our house as well. I'd buy more for snacks or rice/noodles in the future. It feels great not to have to shuffle cereal bags around the cupboard.
So far, everything has gone well. br>br> I purchased these for my dry pantry staples because I have a TINY kitchen and needed something tall and narrow to fit them in the cabinets. Because of all the nooks and crannies, the lids take a little longer to dry, but it's nothing to be concerned about. They have a lot of air. When sealed, the bag is airtight and can even be shaken upside down without leaking flour. br>br>The chalkboard labels add a nice touch to the canisters, elevating them above my standard "masking tape and a sharpie" labeling system. These are attractive and have enough capacity to hold a full bag of flour, sugar, or rice - However, keep in mind that a five-bag of flour will fit snugly. It's possible that you'll have to tap it on the counter a few times to get the entire bag in. Getting a 1 cup measuring cup into the canister is the same as getting a 1 cup measuring cup out. It will fit, but only just. br>br>Time will tell how well these hold up to regular use, but so far I'm pleased with them - Particularly given the cost.
When I was reorganizing my pantry, I purchased a set of these. They're great for the price, but they're not the best on the market, in my opinion. Because the top does not stay open by itself, you must hold the flap open while pouring. The food appears to be fresh, but the seal on the pop top portion does not appear to be very tight, leading me to believe that the food will become stale after a while. It's the perfect size, holding an entire bag of cereal, cheez-its, and other small items. That's a huge plus, and they're nice and slim, so you can fit a lot of them on the shelf. The labels work well and are a nice bonus; however, I recommend that you let them dry before applying them to the container. Overall, these do the job and are a good value for the money; I don't expect you to be blown away, and I don't expect you to be disappointed.
We recently had ants, and they were everywhere, so I had to throw out all of the cereal and buy these, as well as put anything sweet in a container, and we had the house sprayed, and they're gone. They are, however, fantastic. For the kids, in particular, because allowing them to serve themselves from the bag will result in spillage. My children, on the other hand, never spill because the spout is round and drips into the bowl. They also make us appear more organized, and they allow us to easily keep track of what we need to buy.
These are exactly what you've been looking for! They are the perfect size for my tiny kitchen pantry. As a result, they don't take up too much space in my cabinets. Make sure your shelf measures up to the container's dimensions.
