It does not close at 90 degrees; instead, it opens all the way to the back.
I'm not sure where the bin is, but my bread doesn't go bad! It's right next to the sink on the kitchen counter. That counter gets no sunlight. I'm not sure if that is of any assistance. My bread tin has a long life ahead of it.

This purchase has made me extremely happy! My entire loaf of bread now fits in this large breadbox, and my counter is neat and tidy.
I wanted one for my Konmari pantry because I liked the extra character bread boxes added to spaces. I wanted one that was long enough to hold an entire loaf of regular store bread, was a robin's egg blue color, and was adorable. This one is my favorite because it coordinates with the blue labels in the pantry and the robin's egg blue pops of color I have throughout the kitchen and house. It's a cute way to express yourself as a character. It can hold a lot of stuff - Nothing is squished, including my normal loaf, tortillas, and hamburger buns. Because it is a closed container and everything else I have is clear, I occasionally forget what is in there, so I try to keep the contents to a minimum. br>br>My only quibble is that the lid does not close completely. It catches in the corner just a smidgeon. I ordered another one and it had the same problem, so I believe it's a design flaw. I did order a white bread box to see if I preferred that color, and it was a different brand, but it closed perfectly and did not catch, so if you are OCD about that sort of thing, this may bother you. I don't even notice it now that it's in the pantry.
The item was lovely, but it arrived in a bad state. Let's wait a few days and see how the replacement looks.
. The replacement was in perfect condition when it arrived. I didn't expect it to be as big as it was. I expected it to be about the size of a bag of bread, but it's a lot bigger. It's not that this is a bad thing for everyone; it's just something to be aware of.
This bread bin is an absolute dream come true for me. My cat Oliver's favorite pastime is biting through plastic bags of bread, so I bought one. Needless to say, I was fed up with teethmarks on my bread and pastries! This has been the ideal solution, and my cat loves to sit on it and watch the birds outside the window. Win- win!.
This breadbox has exceeded my expectations in every way. It can hold a full loaf of bread, a half-loaf, and several smaller items such as bagels or English muffins. My only quibble is with the color, which is shared by others. The red I ordered is more of a salmon color, almost bordering on hot pink in appearance. It doesn't bother me enough to return it, and I get a lot of compliments on it.
It's stunning, and it looks fantastic in my dining room. It complements my vintage/retro theme nicely. There are air vents in the back to help with air flow. It will most likely hold two store-bought loaves.
To describe size, it was large enough for two loaves of bread and a few small rolls, which was exactly what I needed. Where are my mother's biscuits now?.
This is the second time I've ordered it because the first was damaged. Today, I received my replacement, which is also damaged. I paid too much for a product that was made cheaply.
